Oh my loooord, the mee sua was so good! Soft and slightly starchy but still managed to retain a nice bite. Intestines were a little on the fatty side, but it was cooked well too — didn’t retain a gamey smell. The noodles here are a little thicker than the ones you get at Shihlin’s (snack stand), which I really love. Lu rou fan was melt in your mouth and absolutely gorgeous too! Apart from the shredded chicken bowl, which was quite ordinary, everything in this set was good — I would recommend first-timers who want to try everything to get it! Comes with a choice of beverage as well, super worth it.

Crispy chicken, mala sauce — what’s not to love? Only gripe would be the bun, which was a little soggy.

Not much to shout about. This makes a convenient on-the-go snack though!

Fresh and slick in that punchy gochujang sauce, the tuna tartare was a delight. But the show-stealer was that nori shell — salty, firm and crisp, which housed and complemented the velvety tartare nicely. Genius indeed!

Ooey gooey deliciousness! The matcha lava oozed out at the slightest touch, and was of just the right consistency and sweetness (though I wish they could’ve been more generous with it!). Found the cookie a little too sweet for my liking though.

For ice creams, we picked earl grey and lemon curd to go with our cookies, both of which were creamy and hit the spot taste-wise.

Got two of these sets (comes with a drink each) with Burpple Beyond, which amounted to $14.30 only!

Look at this beauty! Though on the pricey side, but the generous portion makes up for it. Soft, smooth and creamy. Would’ve preferred the matcha notes to be a bit more pronounced, but nonetheless a sweet treat I would go back for if I’m around the area.

Paradise Group strikes again, this time with a la mian X ramen X prawn noodle hybrid concept. Though a little pricey, prawn lovers will thoroughly enjoy this dish, featuring two fresh large prawns and a generous amount of bouncy shrimp paste balls. The broth was the the star of this dish — complex with a smoky wok hei depth, which really sets this bowl aside from the average prawn noodle. Yum!

This is the ultimate hidden gem find — menu at shopfront doesn’t mention anything about mala until you enter, and notice a small pamphlet at the counter where you can pick and choose ingredients for your mala.

Maybe it’s because we literally had zero expectations, but we quite enjoyed this dish! It had the right balance between spice and a piquant tongue-numbingness that’s crucial for a quality mala! Ingredients were fresh, but perhaps they could improve on the portion size here, as I found it a little small.

This place is quite the hidden gem! Looks and feels abit dodgy as it is primarily a karaoke bar at night, but the food served here during its lunchtime concept is quite decent. Though a little dry, the chicken was seasoned nicely and the sambal chilli was fragrant. Rice could be a tad more lemak, but appreciated the use of long grain rice here. Plus points for the crunchy ikan billis as well!

If you work around the area, this is a good quick lunch option away from the office lunch crowd. Use Burpple Beyond here for 1-for-1 Nasi Lemak (they have other main options like fish, chicken, beef and the rather interesting fried lotus too)!

Another winner for me. Tender, super fresh and marinated with the same rub used for the grilled squid. Goes well with the tangy in-house belachan served alongside (just note that the spice will creep up on you gradually, and it’s no joke for those who cannot take the heat).

This joint pays high attention to the freshness of the produce and quality of their grills here, and their tasty skewers and grilled dishes attest to it.

Smothered in an Indonesian BBQ sauce — which, according to the head Chef, is merely a loose interpretation of flavours and tastes recalled from his childhood — this pork rib was charred to a smoky, fall-off-the bone tenderness, encapsulating all that a stellar BBQ pork rib should be. Though it was a little on the sweet side for me (personal preference), this is definitely a must-order here.

Still thinking about this dish. Loved the strong hint of cumin used in the seasoning, and how this was grilled to such smoky, tender and chewy perfection. Will come back for this.
