Located in the midst of the gorgeous botanic gardens, FFT's mission is to connect people with nature. It is the perfect setting for a meal with the family, or a large gathering of friends. With it's large tables and enclosed playground, this 300-seater is a no-brainer when it comes to big groups. Wanna know the best part? If it's cool and breezy outside, rent a picnic basket from FFT for the day, it comes complete with a picnic menu!

At just $8.80, this lunch set of 4 Xiao Long Baos, 1 bowl of noodles and a drink will leave you satisfied. The noodles come in a generous portion with 5 versions to choose from -- Noodles A and E are recommended. For supper, the steamboat buffet with unlimited XLB is crazy good value! From 10.15pm - 12.30pm, it's only $16.80 for adults.

The BBQ buffet here might well be the most affordable buffet around. At only $14.90++ for lunch on weekdays and $24.90++ for dinner, K.COOK makes a great place for dining in groups and eating till you drop without burning a hole in your pocket. The meats are well-marinated and come in a good variety. With great value and a good selection, they're really bringing in the crowds - so be prepared to queue!

Hailed as one of the most popular restaurants in Thailand, MK Restaurant finally hit the shores of Singapore last year. They are most known for Thai-style suki hot pot, their signature MK sauce, and the MK roasted duck. If you aren't sure what to order, just go for the MK Suki Platter, which will give you a taste of all their bestsellers. Also try their jade noodles and crystal fish egg balls, which are filled with fish eggs that pop in your mouth. And because no Thai meal is complete without dessert, you'll get a helping of coconut milk ice cream! As this place gets crowded quickly, you're strongly encouraged to make reservations in advance!

Late dinner at the wallet friendly and authentic Thai casual dining along Purvis Street. One of our favorite dishes here is the claypot tang hoon prawn and the spicy Tomyam soup. We think that the dishes at First Thai are much better than Jai Thai next door. I was literally breathing fire after completing the meal.

These twice fried sweet potato fries might rival the regular french fries, and top it off with house made salted duck egg sauce and curry leaves for that extra spice.

More and more places in Singapore are offering the well loved multi-layered mille crepe cakes. Here are the Hokkaido Milk Chocolate and Matcha Azuki Mille Crepe cakes at Doi Chaang Coffee. I like that the cakes are not too sweet and the crepes are so thin and creamy.

And having their famous salted egg sweet potato fries. Loving the combination of sweet and salty. But wasn't very happy when I made reservations and wasn't given an indoor table because someone came earlier than me (even when I was punctual). What's the point of making reservations then?
