One of the items on the Weekend Brunch Menu here at @theusualplacesg. With the background and pistachio crumbs, it reminds me of winter ❄️ in Finland!
The great thing is if one is not enough for you, you can buy as many bottles 🍾 as you want and take them home with you! By the way, they are having a Peppermint version, which is great for the holiday season. 😊
The Ondeh Ondeh cake we had was also pretty damn good!
We talked to owner Fiona, and she was telling us about how important it is to keep the cost down because not everyone can afford to have $40-50 brunch all the time. Also, to do that, they make most of their stuff themselves, which also allows them to keep things healthier.

The restaurant showcases a new take on traditional ethnic cuisine, hawker fare and dim sum. Rather on the pricey side, dishes ranging from $8-22, but experimental and adventurous. Thanks to @honeybeesweets.sg for asking me along!
Really huge serving, all three of us couldn't finish our breakfast. The crowd here comprises mainly of foreigners, at least when we were there for brunch.
And it's awesome! This Nasi Lemak Set for 2 ($25) at Sinpopo Brand could easily pass off as something for 3.
It was also a sampler platter of their starters: Rojak Slaw, Ma Ling Luncheon Crisp, Sambal Fishballs, Roasted Potatoes & Curry, Har Jeong Kai Wings and Chargrilled Pork Chop.
The best thing is the rice is free flow, that is if you could even finish the rest in the first place. Two thumbs up!
Beef & Grains ($25). Seared marbled striploin, wet Orzo rice, fried & runny free range hen's egg, sweet sour ginger, furikake and scallions. It's as tasty as I thought it would be!
