This is a very quiet place that you might hardly venture to in Singapore, there’s only a little shops here that sell foods and drinks.
The only time I would come here is when I’m exercising at Kent Ridge Park, which is just a short walk to this corner coffee shop that serves affordable tze char and Chinese foods.
They have a very extensive menu here, not just on the menu book; but also a list of menu pasted on the wall as well.
Just for their fried rice, there’s also lots of combination you can get; such as this coming with sliced fish.
The rice is fried with egg, even though it wasn’t too wok hey for me. But the sliced fish was soft and delicious.
The sauce has some kind of shrimp paste that was bursting with umami and they cut the pork belly just thin enough to give it the right amount of chew. Not v spicy at all, absolute rice killer and we were fighting for every piece! Must try!!
Props to this underrated and slightly ulu place! Really good food and definitely deserves more attention
Moonlight horfun(again, they use the whole raw egg instead of just the egg yolk, so you might want to copy me and ask them to fry everything.)
Travels well, really comforting and addictive stuff. Do consider dabaoing
My friend didnt like it at all, and i have to admit that it's an acquired taste even though i didnt particularly crave it either. It's easy to see this is a fantastic rendition though, from the tenderness of the chicken, to the viscosity and depth of flavour in the Broth. Even though im not a Fan of this particular style of cooking, i have no doubt that this is one of the best around so those would love it should definitely check it out! There's a slight bite from the ginger as well
P. S. Their service is ridiculously fast. Idk is if its cos i called in advance asking if the dishes are available (then again they wouldnt know our portion size) but they served all the 3 dishes in less than 5mins
Pork ribs were quite tender and the curry sauce was unique. It's the usual chinese curry with a distinct sweetness and slightly more complex in flavour. I found it not bad but my friend couldnt get used to the sweetness and the creaminess, due to the similarity to desserts. I would say this is still dish that most would be able to accept, even with the slight arrangement, thus it's recommended if u come here
We requested the dish to be Fried with the egg due to health Concerns. (is it always served with raw egg whites tho??)
Anyway this was really good. Wok hei, Hor Fun texture was just a teeny bit soft but still quite good, tender chicken and well cooked veggies. A steal, and a must try at its price
Only gripe is the location
