The duck here is getting terrible. Despite the thin slices it's still tough
The rest were fine, esp the small intestines which were basically perfect, incredibly well braised and goes well w their two excellence chili sauces
Light suace was nice and the porridge was clean tasting, very different from the thick kind that's more popular(both sauce and grains)
A lot of random things but the meat portion wasnt generous
Still satisfying overall
The two pax set is really not v worth, u get thin slices of duck breast. Chilli is still spectacular and the rest of the components weren't bad
Always tot yu kee is damn consistent but
today the duck was pretty average, not v flavourful nor was it as tender as it always is
My kind of comfort food especially with the Kway. Silky and smooth yet flavourful with the soup. Duck was tender and the half protion was just right for two people.
Yu kee is yu kee, there's absolutely no doubt about their standard. Their duck porridge is lighter, I think I forgot their braising liquid isn't the super thick kind. Moreish in its own right and satisfying despite it being suitable for sick people too. Not to mention their portion is absolutely huge, I could barely finish. You're getting loads of ingredients too
Rant:
I'm thinking how food is more fair than other industries in some sense, esp to newer players. In most industries the more established institutions have massive advantage. But food is really subjected to taste(and price and wtv) and no matter how established some chains are(e.g. yu kee), if a new comer comes along and it tastes better, people will flock to the new place and the new place would be able to rapidly expand ceteris paribus
