Reviews

From the Burpple community

Fortune Centre is always a heaven for vegan eater, so you could find lots of them in this place.

While you could already find a lot of them at the 1st floor, there’s also a few on the other floors.

Example the Vege Pot at 2nd floor, located at a much hidden spot; but you still seeing many people found their way here.

The Rendang Lion Mane Mushroom Rice comes with a very lemak rendang sauce, mixed with lion mane mushroom, beancurd and potato.

Amidst the numerous vegan shops in Fortune Center, this hidden find is really yummy and affordable.

Was surprised to read very few reviews about it despite being opened for 5 years. I think probably due to it's obscure location which is a real pity.

Tried the following dishes (ranked according to personal preference) and overall damage of $50+ which is surprisely affordable! They handmade some of the vegan meat which is + point to the overall taste.

1) Bak Kut Teh Mee Sua: One of the best vegan bak kut teh soup I have tried. Like that the soup contains other ingredients besides the usual mock meat.

2) Sambal Fish With Brown Rice: Their handmade fish is much tastier than those sold in supermarts. Sambal sauce is not too spicy but 👍

3) Ngoh Hiong: Only sold during CNY, the handmade ngoh hiong is very well made with a good blend of diff ingredients

4) Oyster Egg Omelette: Not a fan of vegan oyster egg but theirs taste yummy with seaweed

5) Bbq Mushroom with Rice: The sauce complements the dish really well and taste homemade as we can't figure out the ingredients used

6) Thai Curry With Rice: Ranked this at the end as felt that the curry taste is pretty similar to the usual vegan curry

Will definitely be back to try their other dishes such as Unagi Rice, Braised Pork Meat, Red Yeast Mee Sua, Tempeh and many more ❤

Herbal soup base filled with generous amount of veggies, mushrooms, taukee and mock meat (which was rlly good even though I’m not a fan of mock meat!)

Healthy and delicious homemade dumplings served with generous amount of veggies. $6 for 5 dumplings

Very hearty and satisfying meal at Vegepot. Portion was very generous. Soup was surprisingly acceptable to me who usually can’t appreciate leicha

Previously reviewed on the red yeast wine mee sua and green curry rice #jylovesvegepot On my quest to find the best thunder tea rice in Singapore and so i decided to head down to Vege pot to give their thunder rice tea a try😊

Featuring:
1) Thunder tea rice TTR ($6.50) - 8/10
-Consists of brown rice (quite well flavoured with mushroom seasoning), topped with long beans, braised tofu, cabbage, carrots, chickpea, sayur manis and preserved raddish (chye poh); served the the thunder tea soup~
-Their thunder tea soup was browner than usual. Personally i felt that the brasil and mint that was prominent but not strong in terms of depth. It was on the savoury side and I felt that its too salty to drink it on its own. However, if you mixed it with the rice and the vegetables, the harmonisation between all the elements was insanely perfect and very hearty! It felt like an homecooked meal filled with warmth and really reminded me of my childhood meal where i mixed everything when my mum cooked 三菜一汤 together. Special shoutout to the braised tofu that is really aromatic
-Their thunder tea rice is really different from the usual!! It tastes really more healthy and clean; feeling more like mixed vegetables and rice with soup. If you are looking for something more healthy and willing to try a different type of TTR, i really recommend this. Its not the best that i have ever tried because the ingredients used is quite different from the usual "traditional" version but its definitely the best unique TTR I've tried and topped the spot in terms of homey and hearty feels. THANKS FOR BRINGING BACK MY CHILDHOOD MEMORIES❤

2) Claypot Sambal fish rice ($6.90) - 6/10
-Their sambal was really flavourful and tasted similar to assam minus the sourness. The spices was really distinct and fragrant.

Taste: 3.5/5
Worth it: 3/5 (quite pricey but its homey)
Overall: 6.5/10

No go
Can go😁
Must go (must go for me in terms of the thunder tea rice YUMSS)
