Famous Sungei Road Trishaw Laksa (Yuhua Market & Hawker)

The broth is quite unique, very peanutty but still texture isn't too thick. The vermicelli was nice

Their sambal is unique too, it's quite different from what I tot from when I had it in laksa, it's actually somewhat sticky and there isn't too much umami, more like spices. Hard to explain but it works, esp w the laksa which alr has umami in the broth

Not sure if it's been too long since I haven't had it, but it's even better than I rmbed? The soup has a sweetness, depth of flavour, and not too thin. Mix in the sweet sambal for even more umami and spice. Absolutely stunning, not to mention the stellar rice noodles.

Laksa is one of my favorite comfort food. The laksa here has a nice gravy that's fragrant and not too spicy, which really hits the spot for me. Plus the noodles were not cut short, so you can get the hearty mouthfuls of noodles with gravy, which is really shiok!

The shop is generous with hum (cockles). Even though I asked for less hum, the amount I got was still more than what I usually get from other shops, so if you love hum with your laksa, this is the place for you!

For $3.50, it's worth the money and calories!

The soup tasted bland at first (although I have stirred it for quite a while!) and only towards the end that I could taste their distinct flavour of laksa. It was fine but definitely not up to the expectation that I had of the famous stall.

Rainy Sunday, looking for something soupy and this is what I got. Famous Sungei Road Trishaw Laksa in the west located at Yuhua Market and Hawker Centre.
