Located in the same shopping mall as Yan Chuan Roasters, Traditional Penang Food is an eatery that serves a wide array of dishes from nasi lemak to the Penang variant of dishes such as char kway teow, laksa and prawn noodles.
The CKT here is decent and has a good wokhei flavour. Lemme know where you think serves the best Penang CKT in town!
Visited here a few times because near my office, if you thinking to take Penang food, you can come here and try their signature dish which is Penang prawn noodle or Assam laksa. They have other Malaysia traditional foods also.
Broth was pretty good but they were not so generous with the ingredients. Only a few slices of pork, one half of an egg and 2 prawns for $5.
The shop name is 檳城家鄉味 selling traditional penang cuising. I have never been to penang before, but my friend says it tastes exactly like the laksa she had in Penang. In any case, this was a great bowl of laksa. I could taste the fish used in this. The fresh vegetables complemented the laksa really well. Would definitely come back again

Strangely, this nasi lemak was labelled as Penang nasi lemak but it did not differ much from our regular Chinese store nasi lemak.
The hot rice was really good though! And under that mountain of crispy fried veggies was a very oily fried egg. The chilli wasn’t like our regular nasi lemak sambal though so I was a little disappointed with that.
I would come back to try their other Penang food.
Portion is all right for $3.50. The coconut is flavourful in the rice, the fillet is quite thick and chewy. Reasonable pricing for a quick and inexpensive lunch here. Reflects Penang culture amd brings people back to Penang.
