The weather is so unbearable these days -
Some days you just feel like having bread and Kopi - thatās all .
My default place for the best Kopi , homemade kaya and a soft bun . Fast service and donāt need to squeeze with others .
One of the reasons I love being In Singapore ...
Is that the get a hearty breakfast with no frills at 3 dollars. And a very good one .
Nevermind no air con or having someone crack your eggs for you -
Teck Huat undeniable serves the best homemade kaya and aromatic Kopi. The kaya is so good - I have tried asking to be sold a bottle but at no success because they donāt even have enough to supply their own stalls islandwide .
The bread is always fresh , toasted till crisp outside and soft and fluffy inside .
The more expensive chains around Singapore are only good because they are accessible but undeniably has become a little too expensive and losing that ole traditional homemade kaya appeal .
Weekends are made of these - š„ āļø š„°
Back at where the homemade kaya and Kopi is the best.
Unrivalled . Check our Teck Huat coffee which has multiple stalls mainly around Ang Mo Kio area.
Quintessentially Singapore šøš¬
If I were to migrate - this sort of breakfast and being able to get to get to a hawker within minutes with just my uncombed hair is what I will miss .
At 3 dollars , you get bang for your buck .
Homemade aromatic kaya - probably the best kaya for me - not too sweet and with lots of pandan and eggy goodness
Aromatic, ā Gaoā and deep flavoured Kopi.
Soft boiled eggs .
The only things that can be improved would probably be the freshness of the eggs and more generous slap of kaya on the soft buns.
But at 3 dollars per set and with the addictive kaya , I would choose this over Yakun or Killiney Kopitiam anytime .
Coffee euphoria
I am not sure where or how this brand started but they sure serve up a wickedly good cup of coffee . There are actually quite a few branches all over Singapore .
Yes - better than the usual local brand names.
Youād be surprised at how good this is.
Try their astronaut š©āš buns ( Tai Kong pau). The fluffy and soft bread is heaven when toasted - actually resembling Y Y ka fei Dianās toasted bread very much .
I love how good the homemade kaya here is too .
Without a doubt - go for set 5 ! ( thick bun, eggs and Kopi )
I absolutely love the homemade kaya from teck huat. It is so eggy and fragrant and most importantly not too sweet - I think this might be better than Kilineyās kaya .
Teck huat specialises in Kopi and toasts and they have several outlets all over Singapore.
This set costs only 3 dollars and the coffee was really aromatic - though standards have fallen slightly since our last try . Change of Kopi powder maybe ?
However , the homemade kaya and the fluffy toast remains good .
