Went to Ri Ri Cha and ordered their Nian Gao Waffles with Honey Chamomile Butterfly Pea, Jasmine Green Milk Tea, White Peach Oolong, Chocolate Ice Cream, Grapefruit Jasmine Green Tea, and a Passionfruit Jasmine Green Tea ($45.20)๐Ÿ˜‡

Overall ratings 9/10! The waffles n ice cream were soooo good๐Ÿ˜ Highly recommend the White Peach Oolong and the Jasmine Green Milk Tea ice cream๐Ÿ˜‹ Not a huge fan of the Honey Chamomile Butterfly Pea though and the Grapefruit Tea was quite sour๐Ÿ˜… Would definitely head back again!๐Ÿ’ฏ

The bold and prominent aroma from the oolong tea, and the sweetness from the white peach was well balanced. The peach flavours almost reminded us of a nostalgic pink dolphin drink.

Similarly, the floral notes from the chamomile were brought out with a distinct and vibrant blue colour painted by the blue pea flowers! The honey was also not overdone, adding a nice sweetness overall.

We couldnโ€™t resist topping up the set with their signature ๐—ก๐—ถ๐—ฎ๐—ป ๐—š๐—ฎ๐—ผ ๐—ช๐—ฎ๐—ณ๐—ณ๐—น๐—ฒ๐˜€ ($๐Ÿฒ.๐Ÿด๐Ÿฌ) ๐Ÿงง They were SO generous with the nian gao - almost the entire waffle had nian gao embedded inside. Each bite was one of buttery goodness on the outside and and chewy sweet niangao inside, absolutely perfect when paired with the light fragrance from their tea flavoured ice cream! ๐Ÿซถ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ’ฏ

For drinks, we got their ๐—ข๐˜€๐—บ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐˜๐—ต๐˜‚๐˜€ ๐—ฆ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐—ฐ๐—ต๐—ฎ ๐—–๐—ผ๐—น๐—ฑ ๐—•๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐˜„ ๐Ÿซ– and ๐—ง๐—ผ๐—ณ๐—ณ๐—ฒ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐˜‚๐˜ ๐— ๐—ถ๐—น๐—ธ๐˜๐—ฒ๐—ฎ ๐˜„๐—ถ๐˜๐—ต ๐—ฃ๐˜‚๐—ฑ๐—ฑ๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด ๐Ÿง‹. These were refreshing drinks to go with our dessert. We really like how they consistently incorporate tea and oriental flavors into their ice cream and would definitely be back for their waffles too.

Having the Better Scoopโ€™s signature specialty waffle a little closer to home, Ri Ri Chaโ€™s Nian Gao Waffle ($6.80 ala carte) was as good as I remembered! I love the balance of chewy and crispy; the kinda airy center is best with the light, crunchy edges. Sticking to their more classic tea-infused scoops, I got the Tie Guan Yin again and tried their Matcha Butterfly Pea Soy for the first time. Surprisingly rich, the dual-coloured ice cream was perfectly smooth and pleasantly bittersweet. The vibrant grassy flavour was also nicely matched by the light milkiness of the soy swirl - a good choice for matcha lovers. ย

Finally checked Ri Ri Cha off my to-try list! We ordered the signature Nian Gao Waffle with 3 scoops of ice cream ($20.30) and I really like the waffle. The waffle is soft and chewy on the inside, and crisp and fragrant on the outside - so good!

The ice cream flavours are pretty interesting too - we chose Strawberry Chia Seeds, Osmanthus Oolong and Chrysanthemum Goji Berries. The flavours are on point and it is quite refreshing to have Chinese tea-infused ice cream apart from the more typical flavours like Earl Grey and Matcha. Glad to try this!
