Palazzo Viva can be described in one word ā temptation. The trays of exquisite cakes, colourful macarons and delectable pastries sit behind the glass display, tempting every passerby to stop for a sweet treat. Weekdays get you a slice of cake and coffee for RM20 and mine was an Aztec, decked in Sicily pistachio cream and cinnamon streusel. Not too cloying and just the match for a light-bodied flat white. Look out for fancy gold cutleries and white plates!
Every visit here is filled with anticipation and surprisešas the flavours served here varies from day to day. And if you are lucky (like me)šš»āØyou will get a complimentary macaronšwith them too. šBananaCinnamonšis another flavour I highly recommend but since both flavours mention here are very dense and rich, I suggest pairing them with a lighter alternative.
With a patisserie counter of Italian-made desserts, flown in regularly from Europe's top brands in cakes and confectionaries, 'D&G Patisserie' and desserts from the masterful hands of Chef Denis Dianin, this is a place to be for a memorable Italian dining experience.
For teatime with the girls, head to Palazzo Viva on Jalan Telawi 3 for its delightful array of fine Italian desserts. Take your pick from the exquisite cake creations behind the glass display. On weekdays, get the RM20 set that comes with coffee and a slice of cake. Chocolate lovers will enjoy the Aurora ā chocolate sponge cake with cripsy wafer and mascarpone cream, while the Aztec offers sweet, nutty flavours with Sicily pistachio cream and cinnamon streusel. If you're not the type to binge on sweets, there are bite-size pastries like the Finanziere al Pistacchio (soft pistachio cake) and BignĆØ Alla Crema (custard pastry) from just RM3.
