Strongly recommend anyone to visit this cafe as food has always been good and inexpensive.
Last time, I had a satisfying laksa pasta at only $11++ and this set here is just $12++ cos free coffee with any breakfast item purchased (weekday offer?)
Spacious and well designed setting too ๐๐๐
So I have heard that Olivia & Co opens today at Compass One, and the menu here looks like an extended version of the first branch at Suntec City โ there are Asian-inspired noodles, curries and all on the menu. Wasn't sure what they meant by "Crispy Pork Confit" especially when the description was "Nahm Jim Jaew, Nam Pla Prik" which actually meant spicy fish sauce dip and spicy chili sauce in Thai (yes, I googled!) so this mammoth of a pork knuckle appearing in front of me is certainly very intimidating especially when I am all alone to finish it. It's hell lot of meat for one but thankfully I am fine with this much meat โ the skin delightfully crisp and the insides were fatty with gelatinous fats surrounding the juicy and tender meat which falls off the bone easily as you carve around it. The two sauces actually helped in making me finish the meat โ both are zingy and really spicy but the fish sauce also has a tinge of savoury flavour to it as compared to the other. I would say it's a steal at $19++ considering it does feel like it could feed two or even three nicely (I didn't have breakfast anyway), but the environment isn't the best to enjoy it given this branch is sandwiched in between the mall and the walkway from the MRT/bus interchange โ I am pretty sure the place wasn't fly-infested given its their first day but a few just started flocking and attacking the trotter which was bare to its bones by the time I was finished with it ...

This is my 2nd visit in 2 days. The ambience is good and not crowded with sufficient space between tables.
The grilled calamari & octopus is excellent. Will definitely be a favorite in my family.
