This has to be the freshest sashimi I have ever eaten! The toro melts in your mouth literally, and with wasabi, it enhances the freshness of this fatty tuna. While the uni is so creamy, and you don’t even have to chew or even swallow it because it just slides down by itself (it starts melting on the ice bed if we put it there for too long too!).

My favourite part of eating them is to put as much uni as possible onto the crispy seaweed, wrap it and bite it in one mouth!

When we headed over, they ran out of their charcoal calamari, so we ordered the charcoal octopus instead which tasted amazing as well, I love to match it with the japanese sauce given which elevates the pleasantly charred flavours in the octopus.

The Clam Soup gives out a really refreshing taste with the radish and slight orangey-yuzu taste, which helps to clear the palate before our mains.

THIS.IS.AMAZING. THIS IS AMAZING !!

Meet the snow aging wagyu sirloin A4 beef that really and literally has the softness and tenderness in the beef that I have never tried before. The beef is only seasoned with salt and pepper, and it is perfect.

This beef deserves a post on its own, as the restaurant manager took this wooden board for us to snap a photo with πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Last post of @nokasg !! I think they are way way too good to be a carousel post so three post of different food!!

Sushi is definitely a staple for me whenever I eat Japanese cuisine and just look at this gorgeous plate of sushi!! I’ve died just by looking at them again!

If you’re heading to Noka, a small secret for you! Their delivery is on Tue and Thu, so the freshest seafood arrives on these two dates! We went on a Thursday then, and definitely FRESH!

My sushi recommendation have to be these: Uni sushi, Otoro sushi and Chu toro sushi!

Nestled at the top of Funan mall is NOKA, a Japanese restaurant that prides itself in sustainable dining.

I opted for the beef omakase (S$120 + S$30 supplement) which was a reasonable price for an 8-course dinner consisting of appetisers, assorted sashimi, two robata dishes, nigiri sushi, rice bowl, soup and dessert. The supplement was for a snow-aged Wagyu steak from Niigata that’s mellow, rich and simply melts in your mouth. It was also a great showcase of fresh seafood coupled with pretty exotic but sustainable ingredients such and flowers and fungi that made this omakase experience new and interesting for me.

Besides the food, I was most impressed with the service. The staff were friendly, attentive and knowledgeable which makes this place ideal to celebrate occasions like birthdays or anniversaries.

I’ll definitely be back to try more dishes!

At $120++, this is one of the more affordable omakase in town and the food quality is excellent.

For starters, we had oyster croquette, escargot and cream cheese with a root plant that's similar to ginseng (I didn't catch the name). Followed by fresh sashimi platter (with chu toro!)

Robata items comprised of grilled salmon and kurobuta pork jowl (top up $30++ to change to aged wagyu beef). Since there were 2 of us, we ordered both to try. The pork was flavorful and succulent. The aged wagyu was perfectly grilled and melted in our mouths.

Thereafter, we were served with sushi 🍣 and a tiny uni don with chu toro & otoro. Followed by daikon clam soup. Last but not least, sesame mochi.

The ingredients were really fresh. Some of the plants 🌱 🌷 used in the food and drinks were pluck from the rooftop farm outside the restaurant. My only complaint was the food wasn't enough for me πŸ˜‚ so we ordered an aburi salmon sushi roll to fill us up.
