The dish is very delicious. The pork chop is very crispy and the curry is very creamy. Love it...

My go to for meals at Orchard will always be Far East Plaza because they have more wallet friendly options. Have seen Maddie’s Kitchen circling round the internet and decided to give it a shot. It’s located at a corner of FEP on Level 2, but is a pretty big store on it’s own. I thought that the curry rice was just decent. The pork chop had a crisp outer layer, but I thought that the meat was a little thin. The cabbage was soft but a bit bland, and the curry just didn’t feel rich enough for me. That being said, the menu is pretty diverse, and people seem to be a big fan of the oyster omelette and beef hor fun, which I would definitely come back to try!

Also enjoyed their Oyster Omelette, which comes with creamy, plump oysters that screamed: "EAT ME" (most likely my inner OS, but they are legit tempting)! The batter is the crispy type with fluffy egg layered within, which I preferred over the more commonly found gloopy/starchy version! Very similar to the Michelin-starred Hoi Thod that we had on our last BKK trip, just minus the sticky-sweet sauce! A slight drawback would be that it can get a bit greasy, though understandably necessary to get the crispy mouthfeel. We recommend eating with their tangy chilli, which helped make it a lot less jelat!

Nice to find another wallet-friendly option at Orchard in this Hainanese Curry Rice from @kitchenmaddies! Despite the thin consistency, the curry gravy is full-bodied in flavour with a tinge of spice - if I could lick the plate clean, I would. 🤪 Braised cabbage/chap chye was braised till soft and flavorful, with added umami from the hae bi. Don't judge, but fried egg with dark soy sauce is a thing for me! The pork chop was alright, though I like that it wasn't too oily. Would say it's worth for money with the reasonably generous portions and affordably priced at $6.80 (or $8.80 if you go for Assam fish).🍛

Finally here at @kitchenmaddies to try their highly-raved Oyster Omelette (SGD11.80) that features a not-very-generous portion of fresh creamy oysters atop a bed of crispy pan fried egg batter! What I noticed is that the omelette here had lesser starch compared to the ones at hawker centres. Definitely not easy on the wallet but I think you should still try this!😬

Special mention goes out to their Seafood Horfun (SGD10.80), which had a good amount of wokhei in the charred flat rice noodles.👍
