Wanna Try!
@ccher and I went to @meatliquorsin expecting some damn good burgers, and damn good burgers we got. They're easily among the top 3 burgers I've had.
Both the bacon cheeseburger and the buffalo chicken burger came dripping in sauces so utterly delish that I am unashamed to say I licked them right off my fingers.
The buffalo chicken burger was particularly spectacular with a crispy fillet of breaded meat smothered in piquant buffalo sauce, its spice nicely tempered with hints of blue cheese. Definitely need to go back for more.
Definitely my favorite of the night!! Thanks Burpple & Diamond Kitchen for having us - this made me really happy. Fresh Sri Lankan crab, with rich, creamy, absolutely tasty salted egg sauce. Finger-lickin' good!
Behind the scene: Taking the comforting Korean Kimchi Fried Rice topped with cheese and bonito flakes. This is how we take pictures in low light environment, just flash the food with lighting.
No LED flash? Borrow a friend's handphone flash light works too. Edit picture with Snapseed app, by reducing the brightness and increasing the contrast. There you go.
This was so darn good!!! Was deciding if I should get it or not cos' it's $30.80 (and I'm a poor unemployed fresh grad) but well it's so tender and tasty with its sweet marination. Partner says he doesn't think it's worth it but it was enjoyable enough for me.
A new concept by Immanuel French Kitchen comes By The Fire opposite I12 at Joo Chiat. Who would've thought a coffeeshop stall would execute such levels of deliciousness?
Ribbons of al dente spaghetti are coated with a flavorfully rich and creamy squid ink sauce (that thankfully doesn't stain the teeth) and tossed together with chopped spring onions, bonito flakes and thick slices of crunchy garlic we couldn't get enough of. It's even served with two whole scallops. Delicious, substantial, and value-for-money!
First time trying this even though it's so near my place. Pleasantly surprised to find that its taste can rival that of my favourite congee at Maxwell, although it's not as generous with the amount of ingredients. Plus points for the crispy you tiao, though!
Fresh pork ribs is used, thus the steeper price($7.50). The light peppery soup base has a hint of herbal fragrance from the 当归(Chinese Angelica Root). Definitely not the usual Teochew-style BKT that we are used to. Did I forget to mention that they brew their own light soya sauce as well? 😱😱 I can sense the passion of the boss and chef in using the best ingredients, and the drive in making everything from scratch!Respect much, will be back!! 😍😍
My tastebuds were quick to applaud the fantastic way all the flavours came together in this brunch item. In particular, I really liked the addition of spinach to the scrambled eggs. And that rich, creamy house-made dill aioli was swoon-worthy.
The two men who made the bagels here are outta of this world. Besides doing the basic well like the White and Black Sesame Bagel with Cream Cheese ($3.90), their own creative combinations such as the Porky ($8.90) is absolutely stunning. Any choice of bagel (additional $1 for cheese), ninja sliced sausages, tomatoes, melted cheese and a sunny side up egg will definitely make you come back for more. I'm hooked.
Sitting at the rooftop of WANGZ Hotel is Halo, a fantastic bar where you can chill with your date while listening to live music. Halo specialises in premium beers and uniquely handcrafted cocktails, and serves tapas and light bites to go alongside. This is a great spot to unwind with good company and a great view while talking for hours.

Mmmmmm.... Too good to talk about it. Dig in!
From Something Sweet at Victory8; the same building that houses Mootime. I initially went "Not another waffle again!" when I heard my friend was going to order this, but having my first slice got the hooked that I could not stop. Its pretty wholesome, coming with fresh fruits and a pretty flavourful Matcha ice-cream that has a strong tea flavour that Matcha lovers will not get enough of. Coupled with that was a classic waffle batter that's eggy, buttery, fluffy and light made sweet with a squeeze of maple syrup. I find this not only one of the better items that they offer here, but also made the cut to be one of the better waffle to have in the north!
