Dined on a weekday lunch and i think it's a great place for a lunch appointment with friends, sharing dishes of freshly-made dimsum over strong chinese tea.

Recommending the paofan which was flavourful and hearty, and imo an affordable price for a paofan in a restaurant. Dimsum set was also a good platter for tasting all their signature dishes.

Also ordered the peach gum dessert which was not too sweet! Ingredients like the peach gum were generous and the dates were very sweet ❀️

Interiors were inspired by chinese theme, which was beautiful, but tends to get a little noisy if the restaurant is full.

Had a great experience at yeast side on a weekday afternoon! Sheltered and only a few minutes walk from Farrer Park MRT.

Got a salmon sandwich and tried their new foam matcha (they use niko neko) and it was really good ❀️

Will come back to try their pizzas!

Love the nostalgic but modern aesthetics and fusion food choices, which is fresh in the cafe scene imo. Service was patient and attentive too:)

Fav items:
πŸ› Hainanese Pork Chop
crispy breaded exterior paired with tender meat, even after it cooled it was still crispy

🍡 Matcha Dream
really liked the flavour of this one, not too sweet and the foam paired with the matcha perfectly

will be back for more!

Dined on a weekday evening and got a 7-course set. Service was attentive and our seat had a view of the open kitchen, so we saw chefs preparing our food items fresh on the spot before it got served to us.

Standouts for me were the Jumbo Tiger Prawn-
Delicious combination of creamy sauce, the fragrant fried shallot that tied everything together and gave an Asian flavour profile- familiar yet elevated.

and Kingfish-
Smoked and came in two different flavour profiles, thought that the use of kailan was interesting as it resulted in a salty and tangy flavour. Both tasted amazing as the fish was fresh and melt-in-your-mouth.

Maki sauces were yummy; there was a garlicky one that was novel and fragrant. Dry udon was healthy- best option if you’re looking to eat clean!

Really appreciated the good service, cheerful staff and actually affordable drinks! Will be back again for the generous rice bowls πŸ˜›

A lively atmosphere, in my opinion great for gatherings. We reached around 7pm on a weekday night and there were a few seats left but were quickly filled. The waiting time for food was not too long and the items came one after another.

As the food portions are on the smaller side, it is nice to have a variety of them. Standout dishes for me were the Spicy Salmon Don ($11) which was creamy and fresh, with just the right amount of rice. Gindara Misoyaki ($20) which was black cod, again fresh and perfectly grilled. Didn't try the sake this time so we got Sake Oysters ($16) instead which was pretty fresh and peppery, with a sweet aftertaste of the sake.

Will come back to try the sake!

Interior was beautiful and elegant, with vents right above the sizzling meat to minimise the smoke and oil getting onto our clothes.

Ordered the House Feast - pork set for 2 ($79) and enjoyed the steamed egg (it comes half-cooked and creamy!) and soybean soup (hearty, with meat chunks, mushrooms, tofu, etc.) that came with it. The kimchi was slightly spicy for me but went well with the bbq meats. Jinju Cold Buckwheat Noodles ($19) were so chewy and broth was refreshing.

Will be back to try the homemade red bean bingsu and cheese-potato jeon!

Tucked in a cosy space in International Plaza, the space was minimalistic and inviting.

Standouts for me were;
Fatty Tuna/ Marinated Tuna 🐟
- melt in your mouth and perfectly seasoned

Chawanmushi/ Warabi mochi
- mochi present in both dishes were so incredibly soft ☁️

Each dish was explained to us as it was served, seeing the preparation before getting to eat it and it made all the difference. It was fun to chat with the friendly chef- learnt more about the different types of Omakase in SG!

Brightly-lit, airconditioned place, good for families or eating in a small group.

Pleasantly surprised by the food as I thought they had interesting layers of flavour to them, it's hard to find food that feels homey and I think they have done it well. A large variety of dishes available to choose from and of the dishes we ordered, my favourites were the hotplate tofu and preserved salted vegetables with pork.

Would come back again for dinner or grab supper:)

Came here for the lunch set! The unique flavours from fermentation/smoking were quite a fun culinary experience.

πŸ… Heirloom Tomatoes
This dish unexpectedly stole the show for me, the smoked stracciatelle was addictive and the fresh mint and basil cut through the creaminess. Fresh tomatoes were so sweet, fermented tomatoes were juicy and a burst of flavour- the contrast created a wonderful combination.

πŸ™ Grilled Octopus
Grilled to perfection, not too tough or tender. Smoked pepper squid garum puree had an interesting flavour profile, I thought it resembled curry powder.

🍯 Honey & Yoghurt
Greek yoghurt ice cream was creamy, the flowers on top were surprisingly flavourful. Lacto fermented strawberry honey was yummy!

Dined on a friday evening, be sure to go early as the queue was long even at 8pm! Service was great:) Must orders for me were the side dishes surprisingly.

Favourites:
Prawn paste chicken (har cheong gai)
πŸ— very crispy and juicy
πŸ— fermented taste was more prominent than other places i have tried, quite a signature

Sharing platter (ngoh hiang)
πŸ₯ ingredients were very fresh
πŸ₯ my favourites were the fishcake and tofu that was juicy and soft on the inside

Prawn Noodles
🦐 the dry noodles were yummy! flavourful and aromatic sauce with pork lard added on top
🦐 broth is rich and umami but i wouldn't say traditional

Won my heart as a soup lover:) Loved the cordyceps white chicken soup most as the meat was tender and broth was slightly collagenous. Jade tofu was also a must-order for me as the tofu was soft and juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside, paired with flavourful chilli on the side.
