SG Fried Hokkien Mee Trail…
An overall decent plate of fried hokkien prawn mee if you’re in the area. The style here is the wet type; broth/stock is thick and quite flavourful, but leans more towards pork-forward than seafood-forward. The squid is really tasty though, tender and not overcooked. Quite like the sambal chili too – solid with a punch!

Journey to the west to try this highly recommended (by my foodie friends) fried hokkien prawn mee from The NeighbourWok, that’s located at a coffeeshop in Bukit Batok.
I must say they were right, the fried hokkien mee here is really delicious, and I dare say it’s worth travelling all the way down here to eat this! The wok hei game is really strong here, and the noodles soaks up all the essence of the broth really well, giving it a flavourful and moist taste! This hokkien mee has pork belly, sotong, prawns, pork lard (lots of it) and sambal chilli, and the $5 portion is really generous. Come try it for yourselves!
Besides fried hokkien prawn mee, they also sell satay which I heard is pretty good too. Will order some to try next time when I’m back!
Discovered a pretty good fried hokkien mee stall in the AMK area recently. The fried hokkien mee style here is the wet style that I like, and the flavourful broth was soaked up perfectly by the noodles! Not forgetting the sambal chilli too, which packed a mild spicy kick!
This stall is run by the son of the famous Fried Hokkien Mee hawker at Golden Mile Food Centre. Featured is the $10 version, where there are additional ingredients (there are total of 4 prawns, 2 hidden underneath the noodles) and noodles as compared to the cheaper $5 version. The style here is similar to that of his dad, which is the drier style. Taste wise, the wok hei game was pretty strong in the noodles here and quite flavourful too. I also liked the sambal chilli (spicy and shiok), while the pork lard was fragrant. Overall, this was a pretty decent plate of fried Hokkien noodles! They also have a $15 version where they use larger prawns, so prawns lovers may wanna consider that version instead.
I recently discovered 2nd Gen Foods, a noodle stall located at Clementi that serves a pretty good plate of Fried Hokkien Prawn Noodle. The Hokkien Mee here is the wetter style that I like, with the noodles soaking up the essence of the flavourful prawn broth, and complemented by sambal chilli on the side which packs a solid punch!
Xiao Di Fried Prawn Noodle certainly needs no introduction. Wok hei infused fried noodles swimming in a flavourful and slurpy prawn stock, served with spicy sambal belacan chilli. Every mouthful was a delight!
Was recommended to try the fried hokkien prawn mee here by a few foodie friends, and it sure did not disappoint. I love my hokkien mee wet, and this stall serves them slurpy wet with a good flavourful stock. Special mention to the belachan chilli too; solidly pungent and packs a punch. Mix everything up and you get a winning combination!
I’m usually more partial towards the wetter style of fried hokkien prawn noodles, but the drier style served at this stall is an exception.
The ‘mee’ (a mix of yellow noodles and bee hoon) here may look dry on the outside but once you’ve tasted it, you would realise that the flavours of the prawn stock and pork had already been absorbed wonderfully and together with that wok hei, what you will get is a fried hokkien prawn noodles full of flavour and smokiness that i personally rate as one of the best i’ve tried so far.
I used to prefer Ah Hock (red plate) over this stall when choosing fried hokkien mee at Chomp Chomp Food Centre, but lately i’ve been more inclined towards Chia Keng.
The style here is the sticky wet kind, with a flavourful wok hei taste in the noodles. With fresh prawns and super shiok sambal chilli as well, this beats Ah Hock for me.
Everything was so good; the noodles soaked up the savoury soup (probably from the prawn head & squid) and every bite was filled with sweetness from the seafood. The sambal chilli complemented the dish perfectly too.

A good plate of fried hokkien mee found from a stall located inside AlibabaR Hawker Bar. The noodles were well fried and had a good wok hei taste. They also sell other items like fried kway teow & fried mee sua. I guess you can say this is a hidden gem in the Katong area.
This Hokkien mee brand has been around since the 1970s from a pushcart stall till now (helmed by the 3rd generation) having different branches across a number of food courts in Singapore.
The hokkien mee style here is the very wet version, with noodles coated in an umami-laden gravy. Overall it is fragrant (with the noodles served in opeh leaves), and features a generous amount of prawns & squid complemented by a nice sambal chilli with the right heat.
