For our other bowl, we decided to pick our own combi: Mujadara (which is lentil rice), Falafel, Hummus, Babaganoush, Croutons, Feta Cheese, Lebanese Green Olives, Tahini m, Pomegranate Dressing. Plus point that we only realised after eating that everything in this bowl is vegetarian, and in fact, the whole menu is, except for the lamb/beef/chicken shawarma that you can pick as your protein apart from falafel. We preferred their preset bowl a lot more than our own picks as it turned out a little more flat than weâd like - but thatâs on us đ
Only other thing for me were that their dips were a little too strong/salty. Considering all the flavours that were alr going on, it could get a tad bit overwhelming. Otherwise, we enjoyed it a lot. More details on their IG @lebanist. Thank you @lebanist for sharing with me this meal! â¨
MHavenât had much Lebanese food before, but happy we got to try with Lebanist! They are a cloud kitchen that just opened doors in Orchard.
This Singapore Sling is one of the bowls they specially curated for the local palate. I thought it serves as a very good intro to Lebanese food with its likable medley of flavours. What you get in it: Raisin Saffron Quinoa, Chicken Shawarma, Garlic Spinach, Moutabel, Pomegranate Seeds, Cashew Nuts, Fried Onions, Harissa, Garlic Sauce (Toum).
Iâm not a fan of fried onions but they do theirs well and gave a generous heap of them. Chicken shawarma was flavourful and we especially appreciated the pops of sweetness from the raisins and pomegranate seeds. If youâre building your own bowl, definitely recommend to consider these, or just go for their preset bowls! More details on their IG @lebanist.
Fluffy soft homemade pitas that were were a tad bit pricey definitely, but super generously filled from top to bottom. Had their Ratatouille & Chicken Liver pitas and liked the latter more for the very well seasoned and seared chicken livers. Addition of tahini, spring onions and salsa also enhanced the complexity of the flavours which otherwise would have been too heavy. Portion was huge and Iâd personally prefer to order these for sharing to change it up a bit. They also serve free flow pita with very creamy and nutty tahini, so youâll sure to leave absolutely stuffed!
Started off our meal with the free flow pita and tahini dip that I loved. The free pita wasnât as warm but still soft and fluffy, perfect with the creamy and super nutty tahini. Had quite a lot of this!
A favourite spot! Always love some super soft and fluffy pita and fresh homemade hummus from Pita Bakery. Had this gorgeous âTaste it Allâ platter during a recent visit and finally got to try everything they have on the menu - hummus, baba ganoush, falafels, salad, pickled veg and 3 dips (amba, harissa & tahini), with a choice of 2 pita. We topped up more pita to share among the 3 of us and it was so filling. Enjoyed the food as usual, though I must admit that we werenât as used to the flavours of the salad and pickled vegetables.
While youâre here, pls get their pita chips ($3) too! They are fried strips of pita - SO crunchy, not oily and were seasoned perfectly. Know it can be quite intimidating if youâve never ordered before or are not familiar with the items, but the service is always fab.
This was a genius combi! Itâs not very clear in this photo, but wedged in the middle of the brie is an amazing layer of house-made truffle paste. On the side, you get a tangy-sweet berry compote and a few ritz crackers, which were just all soooo good together. We got this savoury-sweet dessert to share but I bet we were all secretly hoping we didnât have to đ
Macerated mixed berries with cream chantilly and basil oil. Cream was really light and was a lovely pair with the tart and sweet berries. This and the Truffle Brie ($13) are the 2 desserts available on Habibi-sanâs menu. If you have space, get both as theyâre very different and it was nice to switch it up between bites!
We were very lucky to have came by on the day that they had specials available. We picked the trout which was stuffed, wrapped with cabbage and done charcoal grilled, served with a side of nutty macadamia sauce. Did find it a tiny bit salty on some parts but the fish texture and its freshness was stellar.
Habibi-san has 3 kushiyakis on their menu. We ordered a stick of the Shish Tawook and Iberico Pork Jowl - each stick has 3 chunks. Found the pork a touch tough, but the tangy bulldog mayo made up for that. The Shish Tawook has charcoal chicken thighs smeared with toum, a whipped garlic sauce. Chicken chunks were thick but were absolutely juicy and flavourful. Loved this!
Another one of the dips available on the menu - classic babaganoush done with sesame dressing, extra roasted sesame seeds and chicken skin for that crunch!
House-made labne, with âmentaiko xoâ, chives and crunches from tobiko and crispy shallots. This is one thatâs better for sharing for its super strong flavour. Personally found it a little too salty, but still kept going for it anyway heh. It was creamy and very cheesy, while the crunches were not only good for texture, but helped to cut through the labne. This paired well with their pita ($3).
Ordered this because we were all big fans of burrata, but oh my, those unassuming hay-smoked cherry tomatoes with daikon salsa totally stole the show for me. They were super addictive with the balance of its natural sweetness and light smokiness. I could have had a whole bowl of it on my own đ Burrata was soft and creamy.
