I Scream For Ice Cream 🤪🍨🍦🥞💖
So happy that creamier reopened just across the road from their flagship branch with a significantly upgraded seating area!! We came at 5.45pm-ish and didn’t have to queue or wait for a seat at all. The offerings are just as they were before - same flavors, same standard of taste, just the way we like it! As always, I recommend the rich & nutty pistachio ice cream with an order of waffles, which are made on order. The rum and raisin was a little sweeter than we remembered, so maybe give it a miss if you’re a fan of more natural flavors.
Finally got around to having a post-dinner treat here, and as a self-professed ice cream aficionado I must say this place is legit! We got the roasted pistachio (+$1) and the stout chocolate w/ waffles (total $11.80). The other reviews are right in saying they probably have the best pistachio ice cream around town - each bite comes with a full-bodied roasted flavor that rounds up the nuttiness perfectly. The stout chocolate is just the right level of sweet and has a distinct alcohol overtone that adds a satisfying kick to the overall flavor! Only negative point would be the lack of parking :-(
Omo You’d never expect a fast food chain to churn out good soft serve but....THE MINT ONE HERE IS AMAZING!!! The icy yet slightly chewy texture is quite legit, plus overall it’s the right level of sweetness such that it doesn’t overwhelm. 2nd best part is the charcoal cone that isn’t just dyed black - upon biting, one can really feel the granularity and subtle charred-ness. Caramel is the complete opposite, cloyingly sweet in my opinion but my friends LUV IT!
I take back what I said previously about this place being a noisy wet market! Came on a weekday, around 5ish and there was absolutely no one. I got to enjoy my delish soft serve to soft indie background music😊💕 Taste-wise, I’ve never been a fan of their not-so flavorful waffles & the overly dense brownie chunks, but the soft serve is BOMB and it’s good enough to keep me coming back. Too bad they don’t serve it on a cone :-/
🌟4/5
🤤So many ice cream parlors popping up everywhere, but Sunday Folks is still the most reliable one-stop shop for legit waffles and soft serve!! They’ve switched up the menu a little and changed the toppings that come with their signature waffles; the refreshingly light & floral✨Earl grey lavender now comes with peanut biscotti and strawberry slices which add to the whole assemblage of au naturale sweetness😍 Their ✨pistachio soft serve is as rich and earthy as ever, but I’m not too sure about pairing it with speculoos biscuits...carrying its own flavor, the latter inevitably masks the subtle yet characteristic nuttiness that we know and love. Still, the thought put into each and every plate (did u notice the charcoal biscuit which prevents the waffles from getting soggy?!? CUZ I DID!) is worthy of praise, ensuring you’ll leave with your dessert cravings sated!!

~$12 each, sorry cant remember!!
Ion Orchard’s Football Food Fiesta is happening NOW at level B4!!!⚽️ Catch a live screening of the England vs Belgium match tonight without worrying about getting peckish halfway through; food carts surround the main screen, offering local goodies like durian fritters, fruit popsicles, mantou w/ chili crab sauce and my personal favourite...ICE CREAM SANDWICHES FROM GLACIEL(sister brand from LeTao)!!😍 With such a wide array of treats, there’s sure to be something for everyone!!
This Fraise Vanilla ice cream cookie ($5.50) is the best I’ve ever had. Hands down, no debate, QED, case CLOSED! Cookie layer is gritty and crumbly to the right degree; firm enough to be held and yet disintegrating without resistance upon being bitten into. And its buttery, moist and slightly caramelized stroopwaffle-like feel goes amazingly well with the fresh ice cream within. With the marked au naturale flavour of strawberries, you can almost imagine yourself prancing about a strawberry field, munching on berries picked directly from the vine😍 Dez Japanese patissiers seriously need to stop setting the bar so high!!!
Simple. Classy. Elegant. Words that describe this place if you’re able to ignore the adjacent escalator, carrying a never-ending stream of people who can’t help but eyeball what you’re eating😂 Thanks to #burpplebeyond , we capitalized on the 1 for 1 and got both the croissant and waffle sets, along with a GIANT scoop of ✨pistachio, ✨rum & raisin and ✨hazelnut chocolate. The pistachio is a classic must-have which I am NUTS about; infused with a rich roasted flavor and...did I mentioned nutty?? In terms of both taste and fillings🤤 Waffle - though small - was crisp on the outside and soft within, complete with the faintest aroma of buttermilk. 🥐
The croissant base is a welcome deviation from the norm - served warm, the buttery flakes soaked up every bit of gelato and complemented the sweetness of both flavors (rum & raisin and chocolate hazelnut) perfectly😍 ‘Twas a truly decadent post-lunch dessert, so glad I could savor both of these for the price of one!!! If you’re a broke university student like me...well it’s time to get burpplin’!!!😂
A favourite of the heartlanders living around this area, this cosy little parlor already had a queue waiting outside at 1pm! They’ve got some really interesting flavours: The first we got -✨Butter beer -actually contained the familiar alcoholic essence of beer and even packed a fizzy aftertaste🍺 Whereas for the✨Smoked chocolate...my friend swears by it, but I like to limit my smokiness to charcuterie😅 I’d stick to the classics like ✨Honey & Hay or ✨Pistachio here, where the muted flavours don’t overwhelm accompanying scoops or the waffles.
Speaking of which, their charcoal waffles are EXTREMELY crisp and light, blurring the line that separates “waffle” and “biscuit” - each piece crumbled beneath my knife just like how a biscotti would. The final garnish: lavender florets sprinkled atop the caramel drizzle, lending a floral touch to each bite! 😋
Just for today, Mr Bean is celebrating their 23rd anniversary!!! As part of their birthday promo, you can get 2 Black soya items for only $2.30🤗 Of course, I simply had to get myself a ✨black soya soft serve (U.P.:$2.10) and a ✨hazelnut royale pancake (U.P.:$2)! Unlike other black soy products I’ve tried, I could just barely discern the earthiness of black soy...if not for the colour, I’d probably fail to distinguish between these and the normal varieties, especially so for the pancake. The soft serve is as smooth and dense as the original, though I think it melts a little faster. Make sure not to waste even a single drop!!! 😋
I refuse to believe this is the same bingsoo parlor that I raved over and revisited time and time again for the past few months! They’ve clearly swapped out for lesser ingredients in the time I’ve been gone 😞 Syrup was sickeningly sweet, whipped cream despairingly unctuous, and the shaved ice...lacked the characteristic milky flavour which stole my heart on the first visit. The final nail in the coffin: running out of vanilla ice cream at 3pm 😩 Looks like I’ll be getting my bingsoo fix elsewhere from now on!
Neon lights, check! Ever-present scent of buttermilk waffles, check! Way too many ice cream flavors...also check! 😍 This is THE quintessential neighborhood waffle parlour, all complete with the new millennial aesthetic. Shoutout to the patient counterstaff who humored our indecisiveness and allowed us to try almost half the available flavors 😂 We eventually went with Mao Shan Wang & Dark Chocolate w/ waffles! ($14.80) The former was significantly pricier than the standard flavours, but worth every cent; thick with the natural flavours and texture of authentic durian pulp, it’s almost like biting into 100% frozen durian! In comparison to the MSW durian offered at other parlours, I’d say this place serves one of the best!! Dark chocolate was bittersweet and decadently rich as well. I found it all the more satisfying that each ginormous scoop was densely packed and melted slowly, thus allowing us to slowly savour it to the last drop....so so good!!
Traditionally a form of American finger food, but these chums are loaded Mexicano-style. Within a crisp deep-fried blanket - which tastes and feels almost like a thick and layered fried tortilla - hides a mixture of smoked chicken, black beans, corn, jalapeño jack cheese, capsicums and spinach. The richness of black bean paste is what ultimately shines through, just slightly diminished when slathered in their accompanying avocado ranch!
