Local Delights 🇸🇬❤️

Consisting of half a bagel, this made a really quick and yummy snack!

Bouncy prawns sitting on a chewy Bagel bed and dressed with egg bits and savoury Mentaiko sauce, a yummy treat for breakfast!

Personally felt the the sticky Mochi was kinda sweet for my liking, but I did enjoy the generous bites of cheese.

Nothing much to shout about this one. Kinda plain.

A little reminiscent of @breadtalksg Floss Bun, this is accompanied by bits of sweet yam paste 🍠, and is a lovely mixture of savour and sweet. Would be great if they could be more generous with the yam paste though...

Paying homage to our local favourites in a joint effort with Pine Garden, @citydonutsg offers up freshly made doughnuts with a local twist, and the Singaporeans in us were excited to try these interesting flavours!

𝙉𝙖𝙣𝙮𝙖𝙣𝙜 𝘾𝙤𝙛𝙛𝙚𝙚 ☕ ($2.70) - Filled with a smooth blend of @nanyangoldcoffee coffee cream and topped with a chocolate coated espresso bean, this was a perk-me-up that wasn't too sweet! Liked that the coffee flavour is pretty strong with a nice kick.

𝙋𝙪𝙡𝙪𝙩 𝙃𝙞𝙩𝙖𝙢 🥥 ($2.40) - Topped with a few strands of shredded coconut, I wished the cream was more rich, but it was quite light and didn't exactly hit the notes of a good Pulut Hitam dessert: Black glutinous rice, coconut milk and pandan leaves. I did like that it wasn't too sweet though... 🤔

So simple, and yet so delicious and heartwarming. None of the 𝒇𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒚-𝒔𝒄𝒉𝒎𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒚 glitz of hipster cafés, but 𝘿𝙤𝙣𝙖 𝙈𝙖𝙣𝙞𝙨 𝘾𝙖𝙠𝙚 𝙎𝙝𝙤𝙥 is undoubtedly THE place to visit for traditional 𝘽𝙖𝙣𝙖𝙣𝙖 𝙋𝙞𝙚 to warm the heart and soul. 🍌❤️❤️

I love how the subtle sweetness and different textures meld into every bite, like a warm hug exuding love on the tastebuds.

With the constant insurgence of new food trends, it's comforting to know that old is still gold. @lecafe_sg needs no introduction, one of our oldest and finest bakeries serving up traditional delights, including my favourite 𝘽𝙚𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙪𝙧𝙙 𝙏𝙖𝙧𝙩𝙨. 🤤❤️

I'm not usually a big fan of traditional Beancurd, but I still remember the first time I tried these 𝙎𝙤𝙮 𝘼𝙢𝙖𝙯𝙞𝙣𝙜 tarts decades ago, and fell in love with that silky smooth beancurd filling, encased in a beautiful cookie crust.

Extremely light with a delicate sweetness, this provides a totally experience compared to the creamy, custardy mouthfeel of regular egg tarts. Looking deceptively simple, every bite provides a gentle pleasure to the tastebuds. 😍 Learning to savour such simple pleasures reminds me that life can be so simple. 🍃

I do wish getting my hands on these tarts were simpler though, since all 3 outlets are situated in town, and their opening hours aren't exactly convenient for people working regular weekdays. 🤭
