Must order the spicy dumplings and xiao su rou! Spicy dumplings quite springy, with a hint of spicy oil, nice~ Xiao Su Rou was crispy and goes well with alcohol!

Not a fan of cumin powder, feel can skip the lamb and chicken skewers…

We had the crispy chicken bao, soft shell crab bao & scallop bao platter of 6, would recommend the crispy chicken ones, the soft shell crab and scallop ones so-so, the sauce not that distinct, pretty normal…

Yusheng was nice but quite pricey, CP ratio not so gd that is…

Overall, not bad a place to drink and chill with friends~

🍗Grilled Chicken
Quite skeptical about their grilled chicken when the staff recommended this dish, cos what is so special about grilled chicken right or not~🤣

But was pretty impressed after the first bite.

The chicken was nicely grilled, a little crispy on the surface, while being tender and juicy inside. The chef did a great job in handling it, kudos!

It was well-marinated, one can simply eat it on its own without feeling it too bland or too salty. The mushroom sauce was a plus-point, nice complement to the chicken, enhancing and adding fun to the taste indeed.

The grilled chicken also comes with some roasted potatoes, french beans, babycorn and cherry tomato, those were pretty decent, quite standard.

This dish I like~ Would recommend to try this dish!

🥣Mentaiko Scallops
The scallops were grilled to point, pretty fresh and juicy, and having that mentaiko sauce on top of it, delish! Nothing beats mentaiko sauce seriously, find this dish good for sharing~

🦀Soft Shell Crab Mantou with Chilli Crab Sauce
As for the soft shell crab mantou, while they look cute and pleasant to the eyes, find the fried mantou and the soft shell crab a little greasy.

Not sure is it because we left it for a while, or maybe cos the mantou was fried stuff and so was the soft shell crab, it turned out to be a little surfeiting.

Thinking would it be better if they use steamed mantou with soft shell crab or maybe we shld just try their smoked duck mantou next time.

Apart from the above, find the chilli crab sauce a bit off from the actual chilli crab I know. It’s not as sweet & sour as a tomato sauce, neither was it as spicy as a chilli sauce, it’s a bit in between, more like a sweet sauce. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not unpalatable, it’s just not the “chilli crab sauce” I’m familiar with.🙊

🍢Skewers
Their skewers came with different types of sauce/seasonings to choose from, mainly the homemade Thai sauce, teriyaki sauce, mala, Asian BBQ sauce and salt & pepper.

We tried some of the skewers with their Thai sauce, teriyaki sauce, mala and salt & pepper.

🍖Thai-style Marinated Pork
Out of the skewers that we have ordered, find their Thai-style marinated pork the best, like really! And for the price, it’s like so much worth it than the rest (which we ordered)...

The pork was not greasy, not fatty, absence of that unpleasant porky smell, it’s tender and juicy, tasted almost like chicken meat! Not sure which part of the pork it was, I could not tell any fatty parts in it too!

The sauce coated on the pork tasted like Thai sweet sauce with a bit of smoky flavour...

This skewer, I like too!

🍄Shitake Mushrooms Skewer (with salt & pepper)
Friends had the mushroom skewer and find it a little too salty to their likings.

🥓Bacon-wrapped Enoki (with salt & pepper)
A little disappointed by the portion of the skewer, looks a bit pathetic. We don’t remember getting the salt & pepper seasoning but it tasted so.

The bacon was already salty, not a good move to sprinkle more salt on it, lucky we got beer coming to the rescue~

🍡Chicken Skin (with teriyaki sauce)
Friend tried this and find it quite standard, can order/ can skip...

🍗Chicken Thigh (with homemade Thai sauce)
The chicken thigh skewer with Thai sauce was quite decent, the chicken was a little firmer, and tasted more towards the sweeter note.

🍗Chicken Thigh (with mala seasonings)
The mala seasonings tasted like a mixture of mostly cumin and some chilli powder, doesn’t taste quite like mala, a little disappointed in this context. Otherwise the chicken thigh was quite okay.

🧀Cheese Tofu (with homemade Thai sauce)
Lastly, for the cheese tofu with Thai sauce, not sure why this combi just gave that sour note, not that pleasant though, suggest to skip.

Service:
Friendly, approachable and attentive staff! They went that extra mile to help us with celebrating our friend’s birthday (i.e. played background birthday song, prepared HBD wordings’ LED light boards, got us “firework” candle and everyone sang HBD song for my friend, without us requesting for it)!

Really appreciate their effort!💯

Note: They can be quite pack over the weekend, do make reservation to avoid any disappointment! Understand that they have promo till end April 2021, for min. 3 pax with total spending of $50 on food items, you will get a 2 litres beer tower for free...

Overall, some hits and misses, but still quite recommend this place to chill & have a drink with friends...

📍The Saveur (Cathay)
- Duck Confit🍗
- Seafood Pasta🍝(forgotten the name🙊)
- Flat White☕️

Ya, don’t mind my latergram, I know it’s now named as FrapasBar By Saveur (The Cathay)...🤣

Had the duck confit and still like it for it is really tender, I dun really need a knife to eat the duck meat, using the fork can already smash it into pieces, that tender!
The orange and salad (with balsamic vinaigrette) go very well with the duck meat, not jelak at all!
The mash potato underneath making this meal complete (making one full okay)...

As for the seafood pasta, marinara sauce base, generous portion of seafood for its price, value for money, worth giving it a try!

Flat White is a little too heavy bodied to my likings, and to an extend, under-extracted, great if this can be improved...

Damage: $47.08

Note: Was told I can’t use the burpple beyond one-for-one for lunch that day, hence, I suggest to check with the staff before you order...

Most of the dishes are fusion of Asian (more of Thai style) and Spanish cuisine, creative ideas to draw the crowds to accept Spanish cuisine!

Tapas
- Chorizo Sausage🌭
- Pineapple Chicken🍍
- Beef Skewers🍗
- Lamb Kebab🍖
- Grilled Squid🐙
- Pork Belly🍖
- Beef Cheek🥩

The tapas are served in tink-kat, small bites and it’s cheaper if you order more, food for sharing definitely!

The sausages are norm, firm and as you chew along, the taste get stronger, decent and good to eat with a drink or two...

The pineapple chicken is really tender and the chicken is being stuffed inside the green chilli, but fret not, it’s not spicy, they complement each other well, with asparagus as the base, well designed dish indeed!

The beef skewers with lemongrass as the stick, very nicely cooked, the beef is juicy with hint of lemongrass aroma, nice! (I don’t eat beef, that’s what I gathered from fren)

The lamb kebab with pumpkin as the base, the big chunk of lamb is juicy and tender with a light rosemary taste, complemented with pumpkin (sweet) to neutralise the heavy taste, yum!

The grilled squid is like what you can expect from for a bbq squid, but good thing is this is not chewy like a rubber band, good to go with beer...

The pork belly is well prepared without that unpleasant pork smell! However, the texture is a little like firm jelly, a little firmer than the usual braised pork belly, and it’s not like sio-bak, definitely not crispy, it’s the in-between, not mushy and not exactly crispy, I think pork belly lover would love this. I’m not a fan of pork belly, probably skip this the next time...

The beef cheek are soft and tender, nicely braised, the sauce and the mashed potato, heavenly matched! (I don’t eat beef, that’s what I gathered from fren)

Mains (Generous Portion!)
- Paella🦐
- Cartafata🐟

Paella is made up of seafood, chicken, chorizo, bomba rice, seafood and saffron bisque, taste of ocean indeed!!! Good for sharing!

Cartafata is made up of sea bass, mixed seafood, and it comes with Thai style pineapple rice. I like the sauce, much of a Thai style, spicy, sour and refreshing, definitely worth coming back for!

I don’t mind coming back again for their mains, really value-for-money, just look at the fresh seafood and fish! Omo, just delish!!!

Desserts
- Panna Cotta🍼
- Pandan Churros🥖
- Coconut Ice Cream🥥
- Lava Cake🍫

Panna cotta with lemongrass aroma, neutralise the jelak feel from all the milky dairy taste, nice combi!

Pandan churros, hint of pandan smell, not very sweet, dip inside the warm chocolate sauce, can’t stop once you start eating it...

Coconut ice cream with basil granita, in aw that the ice cream doesn’t really melt even after rounds of phototaking by us... interesting combi with basil granita (acquired taste) and chocolate soil base, not bad...

Lava cake, the warm chocolate oozing out from the cake, eating it with the soft milky vanilla ice cream, heavenly can! Quite decent, won’t go wrong ordering this... Sadly, the vanilla ice cream just melted too fast, didn’t managed to take a nice photo of it...

Drinks
- Nin Jiom🥃 (Pi Pa Gao + Bourbon + Lemon + Honey + Mint)

This really taste like pi pa gao! For PPG lover, this is definitely your thing (but with alcohol content that is)! The strong aroma of PPG and the refreshing lemon, this just doesn’t taste like alcohol at all, for those who are afraid of hard liquor taste, fret not! But that doesn’t mean that the alcohol is not “gao” enough, I turned red soon after the first few sips...=X

Note: Colourful and brightly lit cafe-like tapas bar, nice ambience and cosy to go in a group and chat/catch-up...

Damage:
For tapas - 2 for $20, 4 for $36, 6 for $48
For mains - range from $16 to $45
For desserts - range from $4 to $8
For drinks (coffee, tea & soft drinks) - range from $2.50 to $6
For mocktails - $8
For beer, cocktails, wine, hard liquor etc - $7 onwards

Like the salmon steak, didn’t expect it to be this big portion, super filling with the mashed potato, the flavouring is just so gd, I like!

Portobello Mushroom with White Truffle Oil Pizza is equally good, thin and crispy crust, eat it when it’s hot!

French fries with truffle dip are quite yum, comparable with the one I had at Da Paolo, nice!

As for the steak (medium), I didn’t eat that but my fren did comment it is nice!

They have one-for-one house spirit & whiskey (all-day), and red wine & white wine (before 8pm) during happy hour...

Note: Do make reservation to avoid the crowd! The staff are polite but very forgetful!!! Spoken with the staff at least 5 times to get our wine, and another 3-4 times to get our plain water served...=.=
