Properly known as JB Fried Bee Hoon on their menu, Seng Kee’s rendition of this pan fried vermicelli, hands down, beats any other Chaota Bee Hoon I’ve ever had BY A MILE.
They give a proper crisp char to the top, and beneath that crown hides a variety of seafood, sprouts and fragrant bits of fried egg. Do it justice and savour it with the sambal chilli & lime served on the side.
Opens all day and till the wee hours (4am), fantastic supper joint without having to queue for such hearty midnight munchies.
10bucks/serve (easily feeds 4 if you order other dishes too)

Soup. That's what I feel notorious Soon Li Yong Tau Foo's good for. Boiled for hours with pork bones, soy beans and anchovies, it's a clear broth, slightly peppery yet loaded with flavour and depth. It's addictively comforting since we're sharing this in the middle of the night. They do also offer one of the largest selection for YTF that I've ever seen too.
Only beef we had with this joint is that some of their ingredients aren't cooked long/hot enough, which results in lukewarm soup after all those ingredients are dunked in. This explains the portable stove you spy in the photo, which we took the liberty of bringing our own, and since all their YTF are served in aluminum bowls, they heat up really nicely.
*Note: Aunty who mends the stall is actually nice to chat with, just as long as you DONT stand right behind her or block her way. Stay safe folks!
~10bucks/pax
Opening hours: recently they've been turning their lights on only at 1am.

Satisfying midnight cheese tart cravings at (you'll be surprised) the neighborhood 24hour Han's cafe. Just slightly short if you must compare it to the renowned BAKE cheese tarts, but Han's has replicated one helluva tasty version, mind you. Kept warm in their hot box, these treats sit there all day, but retains its crumbly sweet pastry shell, vibrant yellow baked cheese skin, and its soft airy savoury cheese filling.
I'm pretty picky about the tarts I pop 😏. This one's definitely pleasing!
3bucks/cheese tart

The team's favourite spot to hit up for supper after dinner service, especially since its the closest Zi Char place within Kembangan.
Their broth is amazing. Always served piping hot, extremely peppery with lots of porky flavour; comforting, satiating, warming you to your core.
4.5bucks/bowl

This infamous supper joint's own version of Cereal Chicken; very much like popcorn chicken except they're flavoured with Laksa leaves, good heat from chopped chilli padi and its crisp parts are in the form of sticky sweet nestum clumps.

Even more so when they're drenched in Gong Bao Sauce.

For watery porridge with loads of tasty dishes to share.
Must orders will include (clockwise):
- Tau Kee (Beancurd skin)
- Super tender Cabbage
- Meaty Pork Trotter braised in soy sauce
- Minced meat with fermented black beans
- Braised Pigs Skin
- Garlic Kiam Chye (aka salted veg)
Their garlicky sweet vinegary chilli goes well with literally everything. Plus, they always give extra lor-sauce and porridge water whenever you request for it. Comfort at its mostest.
Best savoured in dead of the night with a bunch of greedy buddies.

Nothing beats a piping hot bowl of soup for supper. We are Asian that way.
Then we call on the full works of assorted braised meats and fried innards. That, is how we roll.

For crisp innovative prata that never disappoints, I always hit up Springleaf. It brings me much joy to witness various local establishments pushing flavour boundaries without being too gimmicky; winning the palates of many heartlanders.
The Umami 50, embedded with an interesting combination of savoury chicken spam, sweet mayonnaise, chicken floss, mushrooms and stringy cheese. First impressions of this one usually has many raised eyebrows, but once you start, it's usually wiped up (with their fish curry) in a jiffy.

Unlike their neighbour, notorious for at least 30-minute-waits before your BakChorMee is served, Xing Ji dishes out equally tasty bowls with a soupy variant. Springy ramen-like noodles with an abundance of bouncy pork balls and garlicky minced meat in their piping hot clear broth made extra fragrant with some fried shallots.
Easily one of the tastiest, highly comforting midnight supper fixes around.

Midnight small talks over countless outrageously spicy, tiny bowls of beef/pork noodles in various broths + pork crackling + pork lardons. 1.9bucks for a bowl you'll gobble down in 2 mouthfuls, but be ready to get hit with spices and flavour bombs. Go easy on the spice level, they do pack quite a punch! This little joint opens daily 11am-5am (yes! you read that right, up to the wee hours in the morning). Keep an eye out for their new menu item coming up next month!
The best kinda supper: piping hot, good punch of spiciness and great chewy textured rice cakes. Goes great with beer or even their Grape Soda! 18bucks/serving
