Not bad, but prices are quite steep. Guess tourists are more willing to fork out 18 bucks for a chicken leg and brown rice!
Orange sesame chicken + root veggies (beet root, yam, sweet potato) + sweet potato cake + edamame. Filling combination!! Couldn't finish it haha.
Cod + broccoli + cherry tomatoes + cinammon baked pumpkin!! The pumpkin was good, really tender. Generous portion too.
So so so many salad bars in the area. Tried this because I didn't wanna walk too far from where I worked, and I found it quite satisfying. $8.70 for a small salad, with a choice of 6 ingredients. I went with beetroot, pumpkin, tofu, 2 kinds of chicken, and tomatoes. They add lettuce to every salad too. A biiit stingy with ingredients for the small salad, but it still managed to fill me up.
Instead of choosing ingredients to create your own salad, you pick prepared salads over here. $8.30 for a choice of two, and i topped up $1.30 because the chicken salad was a premium option. I initially thought that it wont be sufficient for lunch because the serving isnt huge. Turned out to be wrong. However, that's probably because the chicken salad is protein rich (it's really mostly chicken). So if you pick a meatless salad, I still think it won't be substantial enough to fill you up.
Third day of internship today! Bought lunch from Snatch which is just opposite our office building. Picked chicken breast, ribeye steak, sweet potatoes, quinoa, edamame, beetroot, with honey mustard sauce. Used Entertainer, and I didn't notice that the voucher is for salad and broth and we were already at the counter so I was kinda forced to buy the broth too. If I had known I would've just picked one protein because it was too much for me. Also, picking two proteins was a waste of money because the ribeye steak frankly sucked, so I could only force (yes) myself to eat half of it. It was so tough to chew and so lacking in flavour. Felt like there was a lot of ligaments(??) in it too. The salad was really filling, so I barely drank my broth too. Even with 1-for-1 voucher I had to pay about $10.60, didn't feel worth it really! Oh well, hope to find a better and more value-for-money lunch tomorrow.
For a late Valentine's date, my boyfriend and I decided to eat something relatively healthy. Found this new place on the list of The Entertainer merchants and decided to give it a try. We came at 3pm, when it wasn't crowded. Staff was friendly and they have free wifi. On to the food, we had the Sea Bass with Mushroom Risotto ($14) and the Moroccan Souk Kebabs ($14). Servings are generous and we enjoyed both mains. The risotto is the safer choice since it has a familiar garlicky taste. The lamb kebabs which sat on a bed of quinoa and pumpkin were delicious too, but may taste too exotic for picky eaters. I like Mediterranean cuisine though so no worries for me, and this one does taste different from the Turkish and Greek food available in SG. With The Entertainer, we only paid $14 for both dishes, so worth it!
Affordable, many options too.
