TGIF gets even better with kebabs & beer! If you're hitting boat quay area, do check out Roll Up for their tender tandoori, mouth-watering mint sauce and beery unique beer selection. Featured here from right to left are the Pistol & Motar (Chichen Tikka), Creme Poulet (Chicken Malai Tikka) and Fish-ti-cuffs (Fish Tikka). The crowd favourite of the night was definitely the Pistol & Motar. We were blown away by the smokiness of the meat and the fiery blend of Indian spices. For those who are worried about the spice level, be rest assured that the spice level is toned down by the complementing vegetables and mint sauce. Also, order a portion of masala fries for sharing. It's so so addictive! [This tasting is hosted by Roll Up].
thin crispy prata with chicken floss, chicken luncheon meat, cheese, egg & mayonnaise
That distinct, pungent aroma, fibrous and bittersweet flesh, ever so soft and creamy... staring at this, even I felt a little bit tempted to have a go at them! 😝
(but I don't take durians)
The Thai cafe offers a limited menu of Thai coffee, tea and desserts such as mango sticky rice and Thai style toasts.
I could experience the pure Thai hospitality here, as the friendly smiley staff greeted me Sawadee Kap and she almost had me at hello. Thailand I'm coming soon!
Missing this bowl of soft flaky mango ice, topped with sweet mango cubes, strawberries and kiwis and finished off with a milky panna cotta, drizzled with mango sauce!! #台北raine了

Yesterday's teatime treat exchange with @alainlicious – I traded two Tarte tarts for a May May salted egg yolk custard donut. Look at that ooze! I think the filling could have done with a heavier hit of salted egg, though.
Ordered another 300g of this (6 of us!) and this was good too - crispy crackling skin, fatty part was melt-in-the-mouth goodness. If I come here again I'd definitely order this and the charsiew!!! We also had other dishes like beef hor fun which was pretty good (the beef was so tender! And the hor fun itself was tasty) my personal favourite was the aubergine. Everyone else liked the butter chicken but it tasted a little strange to me. Overall, I think it's worth a try! Decent place for a nice meal plus service is good. (Hop over to The Tuckshop for some post-dinner beer if you'd like)
There's nothing more classic for brunch than Eggs Benedict. Perfecting this dish is all about timing, the folks did a very good job and substituted smoked salmon with pulled pork for a cheeky twist.
Chunks of tender slow-cooked pork belly and sweet potato hash drenched in a sweet onion gravy and topped off with a poached egg.
Overall a 7.5/10; points deducted for unevenly cooked sweet potato (some cubes were hard and evidently undercooked). While I liked the sweetness of the gravy and caramelisation on the pork, do think the whole dish needed more freshness to give it some complexity of flavour.
If love is what causes a person to change, then I must be in love.
With food.
Will never cease to be amazed at the many foods I have learnt to appreciate and come to love, century egg being one of them. Also in my ever-burgeoning list of foods that I am now able to stomach: fatty pork, sashimi, bone-in chicken, steak, clams, mussels, uni, squid, octopus and lamb.
That said, two things I am quite certain I will never be able to embrace: mushrooms and goat's cheese.
Only on Sunday, this favorite Viet place of mine cooks up a huge pot of literally the best pho I have every tasted in Singapore. Nam nam what?! The overrated joint puts Viet food in shame. A bowl like this cost only $6/bowl, and it's divine from the broth to their beef slices in which they ain't stingy about. A good dose of raw greens, and viola a heartwarming bowl for the soul 👍
