Possibly one of the best yam paste dessert you can find. A bowl of smooth yammy goodness, not too sweet or thick, topped with sweet potatoes and gingko nuts - properly prepared, not the horrible canned type that you'd find some stalls using. I opted to leave out the coconut milk, not quite a fan of that combination. At $3.20, price point slightly high for a hawker center but I'll willingly pay for the awesomeness of this hard-to-get-right dessert.

Almost like a coconut ice cream with lots of taro "ripples", the Coconut Taro Ice Cream (S$4.50) is one ice cream flavour you ought to try. But no worries if you are not ready to commit, because you can always ask for a spoonful to try before you buy.

Part of the 12 Ann Siang concept, Catchfly is their New York speakeasy helmed by Liam Baer. They have recently expanded their menu to incorporate more main courses to become a full fledged dining venue (instead of just a bar with bar bites). This dessert seems to have been brought down from their Coriander Leaf Grill menu, but it hits all the right notes. The crunch and coffee hit from the crumble, the freshness from the frozen raspberries compliment the light, yet luxurious Baileys mousse and provide a variety of textures in every mouthful - certainly something to come back for. #burpple #catchflysg

Their tiramisu comes in a big block and the sponge fingers are well saturated in coffee so it's really moist. There's a sufficient amount of alcohol and mascarpone to keep me happy as well.
Actually, as I was quite full from the pizza, my initial plan was to get the tiramisu to enjoy later at home but the staff explained that they don't do takeaways for any of their three desserts. So we ended up having it at Bottega itself with a cup of black coffee. It was a satisfying end to our meal.

Saw some posts about these online and decided to give it a go. Unfortunately I found the flavours rather off from what I was expecting ā€” the fillings were somewhat of a sweeter Mung Bean filling possibly with a hint of condensed milk, but definitely nothing similar to the Milo we are all familiar with. That being said, the Kueh seems to be brilliantly made (they make all their Kueh in house here); the glistening skin that is chewy hey doesn't stick to the teeth ā€” pretty bouncy even. Probably it would have been a better experience to stick with the more conventional flavours here which would taste the part, but I must say Green Tea Ang Ku Kueh and Kopi Ang Ku Kueh here sounds rather enticing too ...

So happy that the folks behind Merely Ice-Cream had expanded ā€” they had just opened their new outlet at Our Tampines Hub on Saturday, making it more convenient for easties to have their ice-cream fix with their unique flavours. Currently not everything from the main branch is available; for instance, the Tampines outlet had not yet started serving waffles nor beverages.

The Oreo Milk is everything I remembered it to be ā€” one of my few go-to flavours at Merely Ice-Cream when I just don't want to try nor decide. I always liked how it's like the ice-cream version of the Oreo Crush drink that bubble tea stalls offer; the flavours of Oreo so much richer than your usual cookies and cream offering, yet still comes with crumbs to chew on. Congratulations to the folks behind Merely Ice-Cream for the opening of their second outlet!

This is by far the best Red Ruby I've tried. They drizzled what i think was the coconut milk over the dessert unlike those served in Kopitiam Food Court.

I'm not sure why I don't see anyone reviewing on this Red Ruby because I think it does deserve a good review/rating.

P.S. I haven't tried that many Red Ruby dessert if you're wondering. I'll continue to search for more Red Ruby and if i manage to find one which quality/standard surpasses this, I'll definitely provide an update! Meanwhile, do try this Red Ruby! Oh no... you will not regret ā˜ŗļø

Found this to be relatively decent for a grab-and-go snack; the Dorayaki comes with rather generous amounts of matcha sauce and azuki beans as fillings that were both prominent in flavour yet went well together in between the fragrant pancakes of adequate denseness that wasn't too heavy yet provided a good bite.

From Quality Kuih, possibly one of the very few Muslim stalls at Chinatown Complex Market. They serve quite a variety of Kuih Kuih including Ondeh Ondeh, Kueh Kosui and even a durian rendition of this.

The Pandan mousse is probably one of the smoothest I have ever come across (it's so fragile that it gets squished by the plastic bag while I tried to push it out); all that on top of firm glutinous rice layer at the bottom that gives a light hint of savouriness. It's probably one of the most substantially-sized Kueh Salat around, considering a piece that's the size of two usually costs $0.80 here.

Walked past and quite intrigued by the old newspaper clippings pasted on their wall and thus gave it a try. Overall, I was actually quite impressed with its quality, especially for one coming out of a hole-in-the-wall neighbourhood bubble tea-esque shop space. While seemingly plain on first look, break through the ice and it's filled with a good amount of coconut milk and lots of Gula Melaka for a sweet flavour that's pretty thick throughout even when all the ice gets melted. They seem pretty generous with the kidney beans and pandan jelly here, with almost every spoonful filled with at least a good proportion of each.

Death by chocolate anyone? This Mudslide wins by a landslide and is my pick out of the 3 softies we tried. Nutty toasted milk softie overloaded with chocolate pudding, brownies, fudge drizzle, chocolate shavings and crazy good cacao nib pie short crust that's buttery, crumbly and spiked with a hint of salt. Intense!

Thanks to @burpple for the invite, @birdbirdsg for hosting and @fionatingx for birthing this beautiful chocolate baby. šŸ¤—

What seemed to be a common dessert turned out to be a treat for the day. The Power Chendol with Ice Cream (S$2.50) comes with such a generous serving of non-diluted coconut cream, I thought the stall owner was putting icing on the shaved ice! Then with a large scoop of gula melaka (mmmm!). Aunty then flattened the top of the ice mountain for the red bean and chendol to sit nicely before placing that scoop of vanilla ice cream. That combination and proportion: power la!
