This french toast is by far the best ever in Singapore, I have yet to try better ones. It was thick and fluffy and they were generous with the amount. I totally love the french toast a lot, came here twice and ordered the same. I have also tried the vongole, which is also another recommended food on the menu.
A whole meal like this is $16.80, without the bacon & egg you can just opt for the french toast at $10.80. You can also choose your egg choice, which I opt for scrambled egg and it was not bad for me.
As we get all nostalgic due to the SG50 hype, I'm reliving my entire life while eating this plate of umami soya sauce chicken hor fun. Ever since I was a wee boy of seven years of age, Ah Wing's has been a part of my culinary life due to my parents opening a minimart in one of the condos across the road. A bite of their juicy, tender and savory soy sauce chicken takes me back to the heady days when the business was rolling in steady profits and life was good. A slurp of their just right hor fun brings me forward to the days of early adolescence when I would help my mother with the deliveries of cartons of Evian or Perrier to different apartments. The tang of their green chili reminds me of the final days of the minimart, when the profits had all but dried up due to the new residents deciding to drive on out to Cold Storage. Another slurp of hor fun brings me closer to the present, remembering the Saturday morning breakfasts that I would have with my parents after I booked out from camp. And now as I sit here finishing the last delicious but of chicken, I am faced with the realization of just how many years have gone by even though the owners still remember me. The uncle and auntie running the stall have gotten on in age, and it shows in their slow movements, a far cry from their efficiency years before. I can only hope to enjoy this part of my history for a few years more. #Hawkerpedia
It's always a challenge finding a waffle within Pasir Panjang, so why not settle for one from On The Table which is easy on the pocket. At $12 for a waffle with three scoops of ice cream, this is pretty much the sort of happiness that one can buy with money.
For lunch today I had Hot Plate Pork (bottom) ($11), my mum had Hot Plate Chicken (top) ($11). I always love korean meals because they give those little side dishes which are so yummy! Also, I think the chefs cooking were korean! Who would not love authentic korean dishes? The hot plate pork was cooked perfectly, and it wasn't too spicy! Could use a little less oil though. I would come back here again to try their dinner!
Check out what the Kok Kee people say in the video LOL
Tired of stale, limp, oily kosongs that totally don't hit the spot? That's cos so many places in Singapore now use prata dough that comes premade and from an evil cardboard box. If you want the real deal, this is the place. Small but superbly crispy plain pratas that you can't stop eating, dunked in glorious fish curry, or sambal if you prefer. This will satisfy any prata craving you have. Photo by Joyz X.
Brioche, caramelised banana, bacon with maple syrup. I'm a sweet tooth so an additional bowl of maple syrup to dunk the toast in would be good!
