I’m usually a big critic when it comes to deconstructed type of desserts: the combination of flavour and texture from each component has to be perfectly complementary to be a good enough reason to deconstruct my dessert. And this did not disappoint. It’s a black and white sesame dessert, with sponge and a cookie crumble, and a coconut mousse. Not over sweet, but still satisfies my after-meal sweet tooth. 😌

The little boutique shop will smell heavenly with the aroma of baked waffles and thyme the moment you step in. Of course we had to get 2 cones, no sharing there. The Sea Salt Hojicha was richer, more intensely favoured while the Lychee Raspberry has lighter on the palate! So to each his/her own! Have to say there were a lot of interesting flavour combinations to choose from!

This dessert combination is one of my favourites: Warm and crusty Apple pie with a single scoop of my favourite cookie and cream ice-cream from Island Creamery. This is my feel-better therapy if I’m having a bad day. 😌

For desserts to satisfy that after-dinner sweet tooth cravings, we went to Laurent Bernard Chocolatier. We had the Black Forest Cake, The Trianon and double scoops of Mango Passion and Raspberry sorbet. I enjoy something lighter and less rich so the Black Forest was my preferred choice as there's also the tartness from the fruits that cut through the sweetness. The Trianon was definitely richer and had lots of good reviews from my family as well!

This portion of Banana Split at the promotion price of $7.50 (otherwise $15.90) is really value-for-money: Banana accompanied with 2 scoops of ice-cream of your choice, a waffle cone, whipped cream, drizzled with chocolate sauce and topped with chopped nuts. Great dessert for sharing amongst a group of 2-3! We chose the vanilla and mango flavour; the vanilla one was really flavourful you can actually see the specks on vanilla bean! There's a good selection of flavours to choose from and some alcoholic options (chocolate rum, rum and raisin) as well!

Apple pies are my weakness: Warm, cinnamon-y apples in a flaky buttery pie crust, accompanied with a scoop of my favourite cookie and cream ice cream from Island Creamery. The cold and hot combination is the perfect complement for each other. It was reasonably priced as well ($6.50), and there were actually a variety of other desserts that were really tempting: Waffles, Baked Alaska and the popular Dark Chocolate Lava Cake. One of my favourite ice-cream joints in Singapore!

Sweets after dinner is a definite must, glad we chose to walk over to this cafe all the way from Little India after our dinner to try out the famous lava cafe. I'm all for the presentation of the dish and it's incredibly satisfying to cut into the cake and watch the 'lava' spill over the ice-cream and cookie nougat crumbs. I liked the mix of textures, soft and creamy from the cake and ice-cream, complimenting the crunch from the brittle and crumb bottom. And the combination of flavours were all well-thought out. There was an ice-cream bar there too and I got a scoop of the Black Sesame: luxuriously creamy and rich in flavour. This is a dessert place I'd definitely recommend. 👍🏻😋

My newest favourite ice-cream joint! And located so conveniently close to my place as well. 😍 My love for ice-cream is like no other, it somehow has the ability to lift you out of whatever crappy mood I am in. I had the Blackcurrent Sorbet and Coffee flavours and both were great, a good balance between sweet and tart. I sampled a few of the other flavours though (the Premium ones) and some were a miss for me, so recommended to try some out first! Very reasonably priced at $6.50 for 2 scoops. I'm excited to try out the waffles next time I'm there!

Light, fluffy and airy soufflé, dusted with cocoa powder and powdered sugar. Not sunken in the middle so definitely Gordan Ramsey-approved. Perfect dessert for sharing and to end the meal with. Definitely one on the sweet side, especially with the chocolate sauce dribbled over. There's also a matcha option available so my guess is that would be less sweet!

I could tell this waffle was going to be just meh, looking at its lacklustre colour when it was first served. True enough, it lacked the crisp exterior so the ice cream made it all soggy really quickly. It didn't need to be drenched in that much caramel syrup either; pairing the waffle with the already sweet caramelised banana and walnut toppings would have sufficed. The cafe is tucked away in a quiet corner along Lor Kilat so the ambience is great if you want a relaxed, chilled out place to hang out at.
