House of AnLi, a European furniture and homeware store on the third floor of Tanglin Mall, has designated a part of its space for its newly minted bistro. The space, complete with stunning floor-to-ceiling windows (very picturesque!), also has long communal tables β great for weekend brunch with the family. Soak in the good vibes as you sip on a Latte (from $5.50) made with Allpress Espresso coffee beans from New Zealand, then tuck into the simple but well-executed Eggs on Sourdough Toast (from $6). There's a choice of having one or two New Zealand organic eggs on your toast, as well as the style it's cooked in (soft boiled, poached or scrambled). For the full works, be sure to add on the Farmer's Bacon ($6), Avocado ($4) and Mixed Mushrooms ($6). All breads served in House of AnLi Bistro are made in France and shipped to Singapore. Note that dishes here can add up to be quite pricey (especially the mains), but the quality of the food and the ambience makes it worthwhile!
Avg Price: $30 per person

Simple, rustic, yet so good. The tender, savoury salty duck meat comes easily off the bone, while the creamy mashed potatoes, earthy shiitake mushrooms, and bright oranges round out the plate.
The salted egg yolk ben as compared to the one we tried at Drury Lane this was quite a disappointment. Taste of salted egg yolks was hardly noticeable but the prawns were well marinated if only it's a tad less saltish. End up its was the pork bun (ζ£θ) that stole the show. Didn't expect a cafe to fare this well in this Asian cuisine. The skin was braised to perfection. We don't take fatty meat but in this case we finished EVERYTHING. Unlike the usual where lettuce are normally used Merriment uses ι Έθ in addition to lettuce. Nice twist there. Will back for the pork bun. ππΌ
Surprisingly tasty economical beehoon loaded with black fungus, cabbage and carrot. Tasted a tinge of sesame sauce which goes down super well on my picky taste bud. Go for the chicken wing ππΌ thou could be made taste perfect if it's hot. Coffee beans by local roaster. Great artisanal coffee serve @ mini price tag.
Ondeh Ondeh Waffles ($12) - I enjoyed this when I first tucked in to it, but towards the end I felt it was overwhelmingly sweet for me. The flavour was good, but perhaps I am somewhat adverse to saccharine sweetness (I think it's the sauce drizzled on it). Texture of the waffle is different from the conventional ones-- not sure if it's everyone's cup of tea. On the whole, this was okay, just pleasant.
3 craycrayfish, tom-YUM pasta. It was a giant portion that I ended up finishing anyway, must be the food debt accumulated over the past few weeks hehe. I like tomyum but not good with spiciness, so I loved that this was quite light, more like tomyum-infused tomato-based pasta. It wasn't that spicy and sourness was just right. The crunchy lettuce was a nice touch and the juicy mushrooms tasted truffle-y!
Their curry-esque signature sauce has so much vampish allure I actually parted ways with $3 just for some (it only comes with selected items).
