Pizzas, Sausages, Potatoes And The Likes
At the basement of Takashimaya, this eatery is known for its authentic Japanese Udon and Donburi. I have never been to Japan, so I canāt really comment on that š I do really love the texture of the fried ebi (3 pieces) and the accompanying vegetables. Very crisp outer layer and the prawns are fresh thought not huge. Comes with 2 slices of pumpkin and 1 huge slice of lotus root. Pumpkin is great, but the lotus root is quite hard. Sauce was appropriately provided for, drizzled onto the dish; I was apprehensive at first and thought I had to ask for more sauce as I do not see much of it and the color was very light, but to my surprise, it is just the right amount and it wasnāt too salty or too light. Add on some sesame seeds (available at the table) and itās even better.
No ambience to rave about, as it is pretty much an open space filled with many Japanese stalls, though they all have their own dedicated area. I like the concept that you order your food at the cashier and a seat will be allocated to you, thus even if you are here to dine by yourself, a seat is guaranteed and you donāt have to worry about placing your bag at your seat and leaving it there in order to head over to the cashier to place your order. I will be back. š
Definitely value for money as there's a lot of ingredients! 2 tempura prawns, 1 huge piece of squid, 1 generous slice of chicken and lots of vegetables. It's great and definitely worth a try, but I will not queue for an hour for this. Next time, I will ask for the sauce to be served by the side so that the tempura will remain nice and crispy. On a side note, their green tea is very good. š
Truffle fries topped with cheese flakes. Pretty decent, will have it again. š
Seasoned fried chicken, topped with salted egg sauce and served in a sesame bao. Love the fried chicken as it was very crispy, juicy (not oily) and tasty! I would personally have preferred if there was a little more salted egg sauce. My favourite bao for the night!
Slow-braised pork with home-made bbq sauce, served with steam bun. Love the flavour. Just the right amount, on point. X's favourite bao for the night!
Sliced pork with Korean spicy sauce, together with onions in a fried bun. Feels like having Korean food in a fried bun. Unique combination!
On first bite, the crab meat was really spicy! But after awhile, the spiciness wears off and you get the real aroma of Chilli crab. Bites filled with real crab meat, served with buns that are nicely fried and crispy, with Chilli crab sauce by the side. Overall good dish, though there was a slight disappointment as there were some soft shells found inbetween the meat.
Seems like the usual lemonade :)
Fried chicken bites topped with nachos cheese with seafood sauce pasta. Chicken bites are nicely fried; crispy and not too much flour. Nachos cheese are awesome, though it would have be great if they are served warm. Menu listed this dish as 1 out of 3 for spicy level, but it is pretty spicy to me already. Pasta ain't much to rave about as I don't taste any seafood in the sauce, but overall this is a good dish and super value for money due to the location as well
Spaghetti tossed with prawns, squid, mussels and clams in tomato sauce, wrapped in parchment paper and oven baked. Generous portion of seafood, sauce and spaghetti have the awesome flavour of oven-baked parchment.
Good one! Flavourful. Not like other carbonara where you get sick of it halfway through.
Industrial setting in a mall, seats wasn't quite comfortable. Felt "cheated" when I first saw the churros as they were really tiny (normal churros are longer than these 3 combined). But the taste was really good. Though it was a bit too hard, it's really tasty and tastes even better without the sauce. Chocolate Sauce is obviously Nutella, but well, who doesn't like Nutella. :) will try their coffee next time.
