Specifically strawberry lemon and chocolate mint 😛Deal was made sweeter with a 1 for 1 with #burpplebeyond
Windowsill Pies was located at the back of the Upper Thomson Road, which might not be in the best location for people to notice, but their Sparkling Yuzu Pie (S$8.00) was definitely noticeable. Similar to a key lime pie, this one had got a tangy curd but with a taste of yuzu, which carried this sweeter aftertaste. The surface of the curd was glazed with a layer of sweet Ume (plum) gel which might not be as noticeable as the yellow curd. And for those who wanted a sweet finish, aim for those white chocolate dallops at the top.
It was quite a fun pie to have too, because it gave out a light fizzy sensation from sparkling candies sprinkled on top. As a personal preference, I thought that the crust could be more crumbly rather than flaky, but it was still a nice dessert to a good dinner.
Coconut Lime Vodka and Pineapple Passionfruit Yogurt flavs. The coconut lime curd was smooth and well balanced between sweet and sour while the pineapple curd was more gritty with pineapple pulp and passionfruit glaze. The homemade granola white choc was a nice addition!
At 17 haji lane to be precise. We headed there today because there is an ongoing $5.30/slice promo (original price $7-$8/slice) for the month of August! ($53/whole tart on promo too).
.
tried out the pumpkin and pecan tart this time round. The bottom layer seems to be made of gula melaka! And the layers taste more like jelly kueh rather than thick pumpkin puree, which was good!

I have been eating the strawberry lemon tart for the past two times I have been there - once at the Horne road outlet and the 2nd time at the Thomson road outlet. #burpple #burpplesg #windowsillpies
Or used to be, they were still good just not fab like when we first tried it. Felt the crust was a bit too dry and hard for the cherry pie and a tad soggy for the rest. Not sure if it's because we went in the late afternoon.
I'd probably never consider ordering a cherry pie because I find cherry desserts to be quite medicinal in taste, but went along with the Morello Cherry ($8/slice) as it was the attention grabber at the display, as you can see two slices were ordered.
Surprisingly, I found this to be better than expected. The cherry filling is mad generous and intense in its own flavourfully sour tang, while the buttery pie manages to balance that off. I've said my piece on the texture of the crusts from a previous review, and therefore won't bring it up again.
Can't say this is my favourite, but I'm sure cherry lovers will be more than pleased to have a slice, shared or all for themselves. 😁
