The chilli-tomato gravy with beaten egg hits the right balance of sweet, tangy and spicy. An irresistible combo with the fresh crab meat or fried mantous.
Expensive chain restaurant crab goes head to head with cheap crabs from Johor! The freshness of this crab is evident in its claw meat; being more tender this makes it easier to eat. The black paper sauce is not overpowering - instead it complements the taste of the crab itself. But it is pricey so I'd save it for family reunions and the like.
The sweet and sour pork is honey sweet. In fact, it is so sweet that I could barely taste any sour taste. The meat is super moist and tender on the inside, coupled with the slight crisp caramelised outer texture! However, due to the one dimension sweetness, I got a bit sick of this dish after the 2nd piece. Xoxo, wet tissue wipes!
I am not a mega fan of lamb racks, but the I recommend ordering the lamb rack here. The meat was tender, and the sauce had a nice sweet and sour combination! Xoxo, wet tissue wipe wipe
This dish is definitely my favourite for the night! I love the outer old school crispy batter that is densely covered with sesame and its core that is jam packed with sotong paste. Yum yum! Xoxo, wet tissue!
