Jiao Cai Hotplate BBQ (Yishun Park Hawker)

@jiaocaiseafood serves a sambal stingray set lunch special.

For $7.80, you get a decent piece of sambal stingray, a sunny side egg and some sambal kangkong.

The stingray was fresh, thick and juicy but the key was definitely the sambal. It was savoury, aromatic and subtly sweet. For those who like their sambal fiery, this is probably not one for you as it is relatively mellow!

We wanted to try their sambal stingray but their sambal wasn't ready 😪😪😪

Instead we had Jiao Cai's salted egg yolk sotong. It took awhile to be ready as the dish was made to order. We like that the batter was shattering crisp and the sauce just right --- not too sweet or savoury. We will be back to try their sambal stingray!

Pork Chashu Ramen (SHOYU) at $3.50 for a bowl, having a piece of charsiew, half of spring egg, seaweed and noodle.But their soup not up to my liking.

Tasted this plate of kuey teow from Hua Hua cooking and eating for $3.00 at Yishun Park Hawker Center! Charred taste was there, Creating a hint of fragrant and local scent to it! Noodles and sauces were well balanced and "hum" was big and tasty upon biting! Love local delights like this!
