But their Cuppage outlet just drew its curtains over the weekend, with the one at The Central remaining until they open another at a new unannounced location.
Both their Shio and Shoyu ramen were deliciously good, although we preferred the former with its lighter but as flavourful broth.
Another great thing about them that we liked was the option of a mini-ramen set with sides or even another mini-don for those who wanted variety without stuffing too much.
Santouka Ramen serves up a signature iberico pork cheek ramen with shio, shoyu and kara-miso flavors. I've always gotten the shio ramen since the beginning and it usually never disappoints. Recently however, I'm not sure if my palate has changed or they made some changes to their method of cooking but the kansui nuances of the noodles were much stronger than usual.

Santouka serves a solid bowl of ramen but with the advent of keisuke and sanpoutei, it's sits firmly in the "eat it if you're in the area" category.

Definitely a good bowl of ramen, though slightly on the pricier side. But the pork cheek was nicely grilled and was soft and flavourful even though it was on the leaner side. Broth was good but would have preferred if the noodles were harder and more chewy. Still a satisfying bowl of ramen overall, especially with that free flow pickles on the side 😋😋
Their meat (both the char siew and the side dish) was tender, juicy and melts in your mouth. One of my go-to ramen places in town. Check out JPassport for more deals on this restaurant.
Ordered shio ramen small size and a set for dinner. Feel like the broth is quite bland and not as good as I tried it last time.
