Hock Kee Birds Nest Drink (Hougang)

This is the giant cup. The shopkeeper had an attitude but this visit was from a long time ago.

This is a easily missed out drink stall at Hougang Central, but they actually have a long history in Singapore.

Started as a push cart travelling around Singapore in 1950s, with the business passing down generations. Today, they have a permanent store instead and continue to sell their signature bird nest drinks.

Many older generations would familiar with it as they used to sell at Getai and Pasar Malan. The drink is boiled with pandan leaves and added with bird nests.

I’m not sure why but it taste really diluted for me, with very little portion of bird nest in it. So do request lesser ice and probably more sugar, to have better taste of it.
