Light Bites & Drinks
I was in the vicinity so thought why not? But note to self: the pricier baked version is lousier than the fried one.
The youtiao stall redeemed themselves with these. They previously caught my eye but they're not available every day. I loved the orh nee version. The crispy and creamy contrast was the magic, while the yam wasn't diluted. The other version is more like the savoury version. It was good too.
The definition of the saying "less is more". Eclairs are often good because there's enough cream for the puff. Here they Frankenstein-ed it. The cream was so much that every bite squeezed out a mess. I was jelak halfway through.
(From left) Apple, banoffee, lemon meringue. Hidden gem selling good tarts for economical prices. I liked lemon less but it seems popular.
I came for the opening promo of free-flow mentaiko. This was good enough.
The one here has its brown sugar as filling. I found it harsh tasting and couldn't eat past one.
Surprisingly satisfying. I love yam and the tau huay was good too. This usually has taro balls too but they had run out so we only have paste and mini taro balls.
Gorgeous building facing lush greenery, cool open kitchen, stylish branding; but dodgy food. Good homemade ice cream, but do they pride themselves on minimising your food? Why give a few cubes of bread pudding when you can just serve the damned bread pudding?
Gorgeous building facing lush greenery, cool open kitchen, stylish branding; but dodgy food. Some thought went into this starter lah. It's zesty plus wasabi. But I felt no strong emotion.
Gorgeous building facing lush greenery, cool open kitchen, stylish branding; but dodgy food. This is their signature bread and butter. It's okay but didn't blow me away.
Haagen Dazs ice cream to end off. Nice, but it's scooped from a tub, not the expensive proprietary cups.
Mushroom soup and iced lemon tea.
