Carrot cakes were warm. Seem like pre-made and just warm them. Po piah were cold. I guess the food contradicts the restaurant name. Will I visit again? Nope!
It didn look like lor mee. The taste feels more like hokkien mee but soup version. It is very flavourful but a tad too salty for me. I wouldn't drink the soup.
The chop definitely didn’t have crispy skin, which was a huge disappointment to me. Hokkien Mee was good as always.
What a good deal this was! The chicken leg was really big and tender. I was always afraid big pcs of chicken like this would be uncooked in the centre but this was fully cooked thru. And juicy! I could taste the tangy sour Tom Yam flavor. The skin got most of it, making it quite spicy. Extremely delicious. Rice was beautifully Lemak, good enough that I wished for more. Chili was good too. I couldn’t find a thing I didn’t enjoy on this plate. Even the ikan bilis was crazy crispy!
Came with sotong, prawns and oysters, but I omitted the oysters. Looked really different from the pic in menu, more like chili crab sauce. Didn’t taste like the usual XO sauce that I’m used to. This chili was more over powering than the chili sauce of the Hokkien Chicken, and covered the umaminess of the stock. Lots of eggs here too.
Was drawn to the fried chicken, and delighted that it was thigh meat thou I made no special request. Chicken tasted fresh and crunchy. The hokkien Mee had no prawns but the stock was so umami that I didn’t mind. I licked up every drop and used the chicken to scoop up the rest that I missed. Lots of eggs too. The price was amazing for this quality.
