Haven’t had Gong Yuan’s Ma La Tang in a while. Saw that they now offer to fry items complimentary, limited to selected items like the wanton and beancurd roll - just let them know at the cashier! We appreciated this new gesture as it gives you something crunchy amidst all the soup 😂 On the other hand, was quite disappointed with the soup we were served with today though, it was super salty and thick, almost like a gravy ☹️
Tried Soup Mala recently and loved it!!😇 2nd time here and no complaints👍🏻 Soup was delicious and ingredients are picked by ourselves (they measure price by weight) Paid about $34 for 2 pax and would go again hehe overall ratings 8/10!!😍
They have a fantastic range of vegetables , more than the usual YTF selection of cabbage, Brocoli Kang kong etc . Gong yuan also has got spinach ( puay Leng) , sweet potatoe leaves , Ceylon veg, endives ,Na Bai etc .. if u like vegetables like me you’re spoilt for choice . ( realising I’m that wierd one that turned on by the big array of Vege choices when most pple dig the soup ) . Mala soup is decent . Tasty and when I ask for less oil it’s really less oil . Dumplings also decent . Overall it’s a fantastic place for a casual meal , especially cold weather .
Surprisingly comforting to have. Really enjoyed every bit of it (medium spicy). Will definitely be back for it.
Back at my favourite mala place after a while and am so glad they have ramen eggs that can be added now along with the wide array of ingredients available. You can even add cheese to your soup now too! But I preferred mine without because it made the broth a bit too rich for my liking 😅
Tried the mala tang because it smelt good. Price is based on weight. We got the medium spicy level.
Quite disappointed because the broth tasted more like maggie soup base instead of mala... would probably not visit again
