At first glance, the Chinatown Complex Market & Food Centre doesn’t seem like the place to find mind-blowing eating experiences. Vendor stalls are basic, with the kind of efficient service you’d expect of hawker dining.

However, stalls like Give Me More with its elevated beef noodle soup embodies much of the spirit of hawker eating: unassuming cooking that is affordable and deliciously authentic.

The soft chunks of braised shank constitute an uppercut of pure bovine intensity. The tendons are slippery, fatty deliciousness. The broth is slow-simmered, flavoured with aromatics like star anise and peppercorns. And the noodles are spot on, more pleasantly toothsome than al dente.

Beef Rice Bowl - The beef slices had a good balance of meat and fat, and the sweetness of the caramelised onions gave more flavour, which made the stir-fry even tastier.

One more visit to try out their new additional to the menu, the crispy chicken rice bowl may attract the people who don’t like to eat beef. While I still prefer their beef menu, the crispy chicken was come in satisfy portion with 2 eggs and vegetables. ($4.50)

Another visit for their next item on the menu, the potato rice bowl. A bowl of rice filled with potatoes, added with 2 soft eggs and vegetables. A cheerful bowl of meal to satisfy your tummy. $4.50

I can’t get enough craving from the stall. So decided to came back again to try their other food item. This round would be their beef rice bowl which cost $5.50. Generous portion of beef given together with egg and vegetable.

Finally I get to have a bowl of Taiwanese style braised pork rice here at Chinatown Market & Hawker Centre. This stall just opened recently definitely attract you with their signboard written “再来一碗” (Give me on more bowl), which is true for me as I planned to try their other food items. $5 per bowl
