This is one bowl I dare say it's worth queueing for. You get to see the chef cook the meat slices live in front of you, which is honestly really satisfying! I got the Beef Sukiyaki Don ($14.90) and the beef slices were already extremely tender. The sauce that is cooked with the beef is of a sweet savoury kind and I was glad that it wasn't too sweet. Paired with the half boiled egg and the various vegetable ingredients within the bowl, it was really a wholesome meal! There are a couple of seasonings you can choose to put on your rice, and I loved the chilli pepper one the most. It added another dimension to the dish. Definitely will be back!
Finding this place took a while, but the trip was worth it.
Not only do they cook it in front of you, they also ask what level of doneness you want your beef to be.
Beef was cooked to perfection and the meal comes with 2 side dishes chawanmushi and miso soup. The side dishes leave much to be desired surprisingly, but I wasnโt there for that.
Beef sukiyaki in other places can get so cloyingly sweet but this one was actually pleasantly sweet, probably thanks to the quality of raw brown sugar being used.
Have your Donburi prepared and cooked at your table right infront of you at ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ฎ๐ค๐ข๐ฒ๐๐ค๐ข ๐๐จ๐ง ๐๐๐ข๐ฌ๐ฎ๐ค๐!
Having read raving reviews about it, I decided to go with their ๐ฝ๐๐๐ ๐๐ช๐ ๐๐ฎ๐๐ ๐ ๐ฟ๐ค๐ฃ. Each bowl comes with miso soup, chawanmushi and an onsen egg which you can put on top of your rice.
Before the chef starts cooking, the meat is neatly presented on a tray and showed to us. While watching the chef do his magic, the aroma together with the sizzling makes my tummy grumble. I was salivating hard when the end product was finally presented to me. The beef was very flavorful and had the melt-in-the-mouth texture with just the right ratio of meat and fats. The sukiyaki sauce has a balanced sweet-savoury profile. After cooking the beef, the chef poured the rest of the sukiyaki sauce into a small bowl, allowing you to adjust the saltiness level according to your own liking.
At $14.90, I will definitely be back for more!
Enjoyed my meal here. Beef was cooked right infront of us, to our preferred done-ness. The set comes with soup, chawanmushi and an onsen egg. I especially loved the chawanmushi, custard-like texture instead of the usual watery type. Portion-wise, it was just nice for a big eater like me. Thereโs a premium version of the bowl with wagyu beef @ $29.90, but Iโm already very satisfied with the โcheaperโ bowl. Will sure be back for the premium bowl when Iโm feeling rich!
Talk about table service! Each Don (even if you didnโt get the Kiwami Wagyu-$29.90) is lovingly prepared a la minute in front of you. The Singaporean chefs are quiet and meticulous. Medium-rare recommended! Love the shimeji mushrooms and scallions. Seating is really limited (10pax) so if you donโt reach before 6pm on a weekend, be expected to queue queue queue!
$12.90-$14.90 solid beef don ๐
Pros:
1. Donโt be deceived. The bowl is HUGE. Like an actual rice bowl size.
2. Fast & intimate service
3. Chawanmushi is on the house
4. Each bowl comes with glass noodles + tofu + cabbage so you donโt feel that crazy meat overload
5. If your tastebuds spoiled, you can just get the pork instead of the beef which is $2 cheaper and tastes equally good
Cons:
Queue is very. Very. Long. No reservations allowed so just be prepared to wait since the place holds 8 ish pax at max.
Offering only a few items on the menu, Keisuke always surprised us with various type of Japanese foods.
What interesting here was the beef are prepared in front of you, before serving to you. So you could choose how you want your beef to be cooked.
The meal also comes with a chawanmushi and boiled egg for you to put on top of your beef. Thereโs also sauce given in case you feel your rice bowl too dry.

๐ค: Was surprised to find myself enjoying this more than the beef sukiyaki don ๐ฎ Have significantly lesser pork slices compared to the beef don, but the chef did tell us beforehand
๐ต: $14.90
๐ค: I love this.... Asked for beef to be cooked medium rare and that was exactly what we got! Slightly sweeter than I'd like, but beef sukiyakis are usually that way so ๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ
Wanted to try this Keisuke concept since it opened, and so glad I finally managed to pop down! I love the concept, where you sit at a cosy counter and they cook the thinly sliced beef and assemble this delicious bowl in front of you. Also, the service is super friendly and impeccable, along with the spot-on decor and ambience.
I opted for the cheaper of the two beef dons on the menu. ($14.90). The bowl consists of Koshihikari rice decorated with 110grams of beef, shimeiji mushroom, tofu, glass noodles, leeks and spring onions. The beef is done to a blushing medium rare. In addition, you get an onsen egg (with a beautiful bright orange yolk), miso soup, mini chawanmushi and access to free flow pickles and ginger. For the price it's such a steal. They also pour the Sukiyaki beef juices into a little sauce dish at the side so you can pour over your rice as you wish to flavor it.
The beef is so tender, sweet and delicious, but not too fatty. Goes beautifully with the fluffy rice. The egg also was a stunner with that delicious creamy yolk. Would definitely drop by again, especially with its proximity to my gym. ๐
