Butter Bread, opened by an ex-Shangri-La chief baker, offers artisanal croissants baked using butter specially imported from France. It opens from 1 pm till sold out, and is so popular that a queue had already formed when I was there at around 12.50 pm.
Instead of the standard Butter Croissant, I picked the 𝗛𝗮𝗺 & 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗲𝘀𝗲 𝗖𝗿𝗼𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗻𝘁 ($4.50). It lived up to expectations. Its inviting buttery fragrance whetted my appetite, before its flakey, crispy texture delighted by taste buds. The addition of the ham and cheese made it even more satisfying.
At $4 each, I initially baulked at the price of the 𝗘𝗴𝗴 𝗧𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗖𝗿𝗼𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗻𝘁, but once I bit into it, it was so worth it. Instead of the traditional crumbly tart shell, this egg tart has a croissant-like pastry encasing the egg custard. The pastry was immaculate while the soft and smooth egg custard was divine. It wasn't overly sweet, which was a bonus.
The last item we tried was the 𝗛𝗼𝗷𝗶𝗰𝗵𝗮 𝗛𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘆 𝗠𝗼𝗰𝗵𝗶 𝗦𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗲 ($4.50). The scintillating scent of the hojicha was immediately apparent, and its crumbly texture looked promising. However I found it too dense and dry, thus it was our least favourite item.
Despite being a takeaway-only unit and its prices being higher than most other bakeries, Butter Bread's popularity is testament to its high quality bakes. I'll be back to try its other items.

Recently saw a video on this place on social media. Since Conveniently located near mrt station decided to give a try.
Apparently, the Baker uses French butter for their bakes.
One thing for sure, it certainly smells very good.
1) Plain Croissants @$4.50
2) Pain Au chocolat @$4.60
3) Egg Tart Croissants @$5.50
Generally all is quite good. The price of the egg tart Croissants very steep in my opinion.
The custard is quite good, but it looks too similar to egg tart. Around $2 can buy a good one already.
The crossiant is really quite good though, definitely will return to get them.
Ordered the egg tart, it was flaky and light. The egg tart custard was on the sweeter side. Overall, a good find in a neighborhood.
Flaky and buttery, definitely a perfect croissant they have here. Easy to go with anytime.
This is their seasonal flavour for now. An interesting twist on pain au with raisins on it. While it looks like a cinnamon, but actually the bread skin is cripsy when you bite.
A crumbly scone texture while bitting, but you also find chewy mochi as you eating it. The hojicha honey adding some bittersweet taste to it.
