Diners seem like a curious relic from the Golden Age of American hegemony in the 1950s, but if youโ€™ve ever read an Archie comic, youโ€™ve definitely wanted to experience an all American diner. Here at @broadwayamericandiner , you can get a taste of the quintessential American diner, complete with burgers and milkshakes.โ €
โ €
Speaking of milkshakes, it would be remiss of you not to order one. Broadwayโ€™s shakes are expensive at $13++ a glass, but these shakes are DUMMY THICC. Itโ€™s a lot more efficient to just gulp it down as opposed to trying to drink it through a straw, thatโ€™s how thick it is. I was impressed with just how close their Onde Onde shake was to real ondeh ondeh. The shake was chock full of pandan aromas & the sweetness of gula melaka, but it did get a tad too sweet after a while.โ €
โ €
As for the starters, they have Olโ€™ Reliable: chicken wings. I have no idea why these wings are described as Buffalo Wings ($12++ per order) as they are clearly not sauced up. Still, the crunchy coating of batter encasing the moist meat within was excellent , and these wings paired perfectly with the Peri Peri sauce on the side.โ €
โ €
These wings also feature in Broadwayโ€™s mammoth Meat Platter ($36++), which represents the carnivorous food pyramid. The long sausages in the Meat Platter were delightfully delicious with an outstanding texture, and the hamburger pattiesโ€ฆwell, thatโ€™s another review for another day.โ €

Thereโ€™s no shortage of American diners in Singapore, but Broadway boasts the unbeatable trifecta of great location, affordable pricing and delicious food.

The ๐—•๐—น๐—ฎ๐—ฐ๐—ธ ๐—”๐—ป๐—ด๐˜‚๐˜€ ๐—•๐—ฒ๐—ฒ๐—ณ & ๐—•๐—ฎ๐—ฐ๐—ผ๐—ป ๐—•๐˜‚๐—ฟ๐—ด๐—ฒ๐—ฟ ($18) delivered an explosion of flavours and textures with a nicely grilled 150g beef patty, cheddar cheese, gherkins, tomatoes and black pepper mushroom sauce.

Despite the deluge of peri peri sauce overpowering the succulent chicken thigh, the ๐—•๐˜‚๐˜๐˜๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—บ๐—ถ๐—น๐—ธ ๐—–๐—ต๐—ถ๐—ฐ๐—ธ๐—ฒ๐—ป & ๐—–๐—ต๐—ฒ๐—ฒ๐˜€๐—ฒ ๐—•๐˜‚๐—ฟ๐—ด๐—ฒ๐—ฟ ($16) was still decent. Both burgers came with brilliantly buttered buns that enchanted us, and a large serving of crispy fries.

A carnivoreโ€™s dream come true, the ๐— ๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐˜ ๐—ฃ๐—น๐—ฎ๐˜๐˜๐—ฒ๐—ฟ ($36) can feed 2-3 people. Although the Angus beef patties were hard around the edges, they were redeemed by their pink and tender centres. The juicy hotdogs, crispy buffalo wings and irresistible curly fries made up the rest of this sumptuous platter.

Any visit to a diner isnโ€™t complete without an order of milkshakes. The ๐—ฆ๐˜๐—ฟ๐—ฎ๐˜„๐—ฏ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—ฟ๐˜† ๐— ๐—ฎ๐˜€๐—ฐ๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐—ฝ๐—ผ๐—ป๐—ฒ and the ๐—ข๐—ป๐—ฑ๐—ฒ-๐—ข๐—ป๐—ฑ๐—ฒ ($13 each) were both extremely decadent, and will definitely satisfy those with a sweet tooth.

we got the buttermilk chicken & cheese burger and the bacon steak pancake stacko (with an extra side of truffle fries).
The service was great and we got our leftovers to go.

Peacefully tucked in Cityhall, the 1 for 1 main is so worth it! The restaurant decor gave retro diner vibes, and the food was better than expected. If you want something different to perk up your date, I recommend this place!

great vintage diner place & the decorations were al cool! honestly the mentaiko pasta was so good so do order it when you are here! the burger was really good as well! just that the portions were abit small!
