Hey look at us, dining at a halal steakhouse with nary a drop of alcohol. Who would’ve thought? Not me! @asapnco might just be the swankiest steakhouse that’s halal (or Muslim friendly at the very least), and they pride themselves on their choice cuts of cow from the most prized of bovine breeds.⠀

My order of the Southern Ranges Hereford breed mixed with Angus ribeye ($47++ for 300 grams) was flawless. It was perfectly medium rare as I ordered, and the juicy & tremendously tender steak was sublimely seasoned. The side of King Oyster mushrooms weren’t quite as stellar as the steak though. Don’t get me wrong the ‘shrooms were quite alright, it’s just that ASAP & Co forgot to sufficiently salt the ‘shooms. They did compensate for that when I mentioned the lack of seasoning on the ‘shrooms and served me another portion of king oyster mushrooms, liberally seasoned with a spice mix.⠀

Minor nitpick aside, I would certainly head down to @asapnco ASAP the next time a steak craving hits. These steaks do cost a pretty penny, but they are certainly worth every last penny.â €

ASAP & Co’s Smoked Beef Bone Marrow is a little expensive at twenty eight dollars before adding GST & service charge, but when they served this starter I fully understood the pricing. Three massive bones, each filled with that much coveted marrow, are grilled over charcoal till perfection. For those who haven’t yet had the pleasure of sampling beef bone marrow, it would be best described as a beef butter. It’s like someone took the entire cow & distilled it into a ridiculously rich mix that’s not far off from butter, but better. ASAP & Co also serve their own beautifully baked dinner rolls complimentary, and I really wish I left one to enjoy the beautiful bovine butter. Oh well, next time it is.

It's a passable rendition, but a tad dry so better with ice cream probably. The sea salt sprinkled on top makes it difficult to eat tho

The funny thing here is that their dessert menu is fixed but the availability is on a rotational basis. Basically means half of their desserts aren't available on any one night. Lol.

So there was no durian and cempedak cheesecake that day that's why we got their bestseller cempedak creme brulee. It's their signature for a reason, strong flavours and smooth custard, but nothing unexpected

The salmon was well smoked. There's even a hint of bitterness from the smoke which should be divisive. Also there's no crisp on the salmon at all, not that thats an issue here

The rest of the cast tho. The rice was fine on its own but didn't have enough sauce, the edamame was quite tasteless, the poached egg was really sour and the crudités were basically raw veggies.

Salmon on its own would be good but this doesn't work as a rice bowl at all, maybe get the pasta version instead

It really takes almost exactly 40mins from when you order, so glad that chope makes you order in advance.

It's very smoky, and the texture is decent. It's like your normal chewy beef but more tender, and with more flavour in the juices. However it's nowhere near melt in your mouth, which really isn't the point of this meat but that's what I prefer. To me even for this cut there's still a tad more chew than ideal

The winner and what left the deepest impression tho, is their corn. It's a really good quality one that our family buys but this is the first time it's seen it at a restaurant. Grilling it really brings out the best and it's truly the best corn I've had as of 14/10/21. The spice mix was utterly delicious as well, with heat and all but it's not v generous so u still get to enjoy the sweetness of the corn

Their black pepper sauce is superb as well, despite the bright orange colour. All of the heat and the aroma, without the sharpness.

Overall I think everyone else was delicious but the steak isn't worth this price. Ya it's decent but for 78++ it's equivalent to a full meal shared between 2 usually
