Served hot. Comfort food.
Smooth texture and quite generous in ingredients.
Not bad.
I added shredded chicken (+$1) to the congee for alittle more texture to the meal. Whitebait was nice but turned soggy pretty quickly - I fished it out and set it aside so that it would retain its crunch throughout the meal. Porridge was smooth.
No frills yummy porridge. Always torn between the fish porridge and the salted egg minced meat.
Thought that Ah Chiang's Porridge have made a name for themselves in the congee arena, but I was pretty disappointed with my bowl of fish porridge ($4.50) which, although was silky and smooth, was utterly bland. For the price, the porridge contained a miserly amount of fish; in fact, the fish slices were extremely small and even contained bones. The pork porridge wasn't very much more flavourful either. I've definitely had better congee elsewhere.
$5 per bowl. Savoury soup base, thick cut of pork bones with chunks of tender meat. Tasty yellow noodles.
Stir fried pig's intestines ($5)
Slightly salty but great to go with porridge. The offal was well clean without the offending taste.
