candlenut truly sets itself as a contemporary and stands apart from traditionalists with this modern and very novel dessert - lo and behold, i present you, buah keluak ice cream. yes buah keluak ice cream i say again. made with 80% valhrona choc on bed of salted caramel, choc crumble and chili specks and warm milk choc espuma. listed as one of the 50 things to eat before you die by IS magazine in 2013, this dessert wowed my night fully. complex COMPLEX taste that really messed my buds but omg can anyone have so much fun eating dessert? i did! it was hint of cold bitter-sweet a moment, salted in a bit, chili specks in a sudden and just when your buds were all heightened and all crazy, it came down to a warm fudgy awwwww orgasm.

The sauce goes way beyond the typical olive oil and garlic you get at most places. So enticingly saturated with umami-ness from prawn stock and fragrant mushrooms, it was a non-stop slurp-up fest once I started on it. This dish features housemade Scialatielli pasta (it's like a thick "meepok"), five large de-shelled fresh prawns (save for the head and tail) and porcini mushrooms. I rolled out of there completely satisfied đ
It was so delicious that it warranted a "good" from my dad, which is very high praise considering everything is "ok" to him.
Didn't expect to get only one strawberry. But the lava cake was yummy! It did flow. The cake layer wasn't very thick, so it didn't end up like some other lava cakes which were merely moist chocolate cakes.
The caramel pear crisp is one of the delectable sweets at The Laneway Market.
With no GST and service charge, the folks here serve up breakfast items till 3pm and mains are available till late.
These were really out-of-this-world good! Each sphere is just filled with lime mojito, which is so fragile it bursts with a single touch, which leaks out a zingy yet dreamy flavour. And for those who wonders what happens to the skin; nope you can't feel the existence to it. It just melts in the mouth away with the mojito!
Honeycomb is now all the rave, and this new froyo parlour takes this unique combination to a whole new level by making it their specialty. Located at Thomson V Two, Beegurt offers creamy frozen yoghurt topped with their signature raw honeycomb imported from New Zealand. The Beegurt Special ($6.80) comes with honeycomb and a choice of 2 additional toppings ranging from caramelised biscuits to granola and fresh fruit, and is finished with a drizzle of honey. Now, doesn't that sound perfect?
Durian Creme Brulee. Salted Egg Fries. These are all the reasons you need to pay The Quarters a much-needed visit. Located in Icon Village at Enggor Street, they take inspiration from local Asian flavours to create exciting and unique mod-sin (Modern Singapore) dishes. A sucker for salted-egg-yoke anything will HAVE to order the crispy fries with salted egg yolk dip, and of course, don't leave without first trying their signature durian creme brulee - with smooth, creamy Mao Shan Wang durian custard that's so, so satisfying.
The looks of this kinda reminds me of Sunday Market's Bangkok Toast. Apart from the slightly limp bread (think its on display for too long), we love the thick yet lightly flavoured green tea custard that filled up the insides without any empty spaces left behind, and the small bits of chocolate within was able to introduce a tinge of sweetness to the Matcha flavour.
厚ĺ¨ĺ´éďźçĺ¨ĺżé - melts in my mouth, sweet in the heart kind of feeling..... really good, no wonder it's their specialty dessert! Finally got to try it, and I'm not disappointed at all! The canister opened up smoking đ˛
