the pancake in the middle was soft and fluffy but the first and last pancake of the stack were significantly harder and tasted more like a normal pancake than a soufflĆ© pancake. (personally found the habitat one better!) the butter and maple syrup were nice though. the chili beans pancake was the star of the night. the sausage and chili beans were good and paired well with the pancake. the service was honestly more memorable than the food. our pancakes were running super late, so the very nice service lady actually provided us with a complimentary ice cream to make up for it š p.s. we saw someoneās pancake stack topple after it was set on the table and we almost broke down for her š
The shop is a little small with only one barista thus the waiting time for the drinks can be somewhat long. However, itās super worth it when youāre using burpple beyond
all the cakes were soft, airy and moist, and while they were generous with the whipped cream, it doesnāt taste heavy / greasy. tldr: you shld come and visit even if youāre not in the vicinity.
personally, i love floral & fruity cakes so i was immediately sold on miss ispahan. tbh the combination of rose & lychee must be the new classic - the sweetnesss from the fruit and the floral tones from the roses is probs the best combi these days, and nesuto never failed to deliver. you could taste the rose creme with every bite, and paired with the sweetness of the white chocolate and lychee, itās so delightfully refreshing.
orelys cassis tasted unassuming at first, when you only bite into the sponge cake with the creme (but then again as a vanilla fan, i found it amazing š) as you tore the cake apart, the blueberry gelee came into the picture and wow, it became an explosion of tartness on your tastebuds. take the cake, gelee and underlying biscuit in a bite and itās a wonderful mixture of sweet and sour.
you can never go wrong with matcha or you can go terribly wrong, and thankfully le omm belonged to the former. the azuki was not overly sweet and didnāt overwhelm the taste of matcha in the cake. the matcha cake and creme complemented the sweetness with a slight hint of bitterness. overall a very light and enjoyable dessert.
definitely not a fan of tiramisu and try to avoid it at all cost. but the tiramisu here was sth i can be convinced to have a second helping of. the taste of coffee was prevalent but didnāt overwhelm the other components of the cake, though the alcohol was a tad too strong.
the smell of truffle permeates the air the moment the wagyu don is being served, and with every mouthful of the don, the pleasant smell of truffle lingers till you finish the meal. real truffle or not, the truffle lover in me is pleased. the beef and rice were well cooked; soft tender beef on chewy rice which were coated by a thin film of egg. however the sauce was a tad too sweet, overwhelming the otherwise perfect bowl of rice. supposedly an unassuming dish, the salmon in the salmon don was fresh and cut into generous cubes. paired with the tamago and cucumber, the combination is refreshing and sufficiently sweet and may i say i might like this better than the wagyu don?
but lbr, the best part of the meal had to be the dutiful boyfriend and lunch buddies who allowed me to restrict them from eating before i was done with the photos.
but weāre overly picky and they ran out of some offerings that we like by the time we reached. the soup base was not overly spicy at mild, making it addictively drinkable for us. the highlights were the two sichuan dishes though. they soaked up all the sauces from the broth (a lot spicier than our dip pot) & gave us a bang for our buck with every mouthful. impt: thereās free flow ice cream which were definitely a good option to quell the spiciness!
Iced cafe latte and cappuccino; both the coffees tasted mellow & smooth with only a slight hint of bitterness. The milk paired so well with the expresso & is honestly the best coffee we had in sg. Major loves for itš the ambience being so good is simply another plus point
