my fave ramen chain 💕💕💕

am always amazed with the broth for akamaru shinaji. the smell of garlic oil was really fragrant and it made the soup so so rich!!

karaka-men always had a soft spot in my heart even though it isn’t spicy enough. loved the slight hint of spiciness in the ramen which deviates from the usual miso based tonkotsu ramen which we were used to.

noodles were well-cooked as usual & the best thing was probs the fact that the broth wasn’t overly salty and we can finish half the soup without feeling sick of it.

the only thing we didn’t like was probs the pork. pork in japanese ramen always had a tendency to have a strong smell and this was no exception (albeit better than the rest). but nonetheless, still a shop we’ll go back to all the time! & isn’t it perfect for the rainy weather these days

the claypot rice was delicious; the meat was well-seasoned, rice was cooked nicely and the amount of sauce that the server added was perfect. however, there weren’t enough smoky taste to the rice which was a tad regretful. the otah omelette was super special!! there were bits of otah in every mouthful that we had and it wasn’t overly spicy so, very suitable for everyone. but it’s a bit too dense so probs won’t get it again unless we’re sharing with tons of ppl as it was way too filling. the tau suan though, was the best we ever had!! super fresh (the mung beans had a bit of a crunch in them), not overly sweet and served piping hot (till we burnt our tongue) it was so good that we can go back just for the deserts alone 🤤🤤🤤

such a nice end to a meal. the vanilla custard in the middle was light and sweet, and the chocolate custard at the sides gave the taste more dimensions so that every mouthful didn’t get boring. the blueberries were a nice accompaniment too - slightly tart and juicy. def sth we’ll like to have again!

calamari and the bread was def the star of the night!!! the calamari was lightly seasoned and the batter albeit soft was sufficiently crunchy. perhaps my standards are a bit low but most places that serve calamari are so horrible that this is pretty high on my list.
the bread were glorious. soft, fluffy, and warm. we’re willing to go all the way back just for the bread.
the mains were super lackluster on the other hand. the barramundi was super fishy at points and the mashed potato was hard (not jk). the fish and chips batter was soft (is it a trend by now) and completely unseasoned - in short, super unpalatable

probs the most we’ve ever paid for bubble tea and the only time we’re going to fork out this much. not a fan of the ice blend (more like bland) though the grapes were nice and the cheese cap was on point as usual 🙅🏻‍♀️

the burger was too dry and the turkey bacon was overcooked till it’s barely chewable. also there’s barely any taste of cream cheese. hotdog tasted cheaper than the one you can get at ikea. srsly no go.

the kinako powder blended really well with the matcha, wasn’t lumpy and added a real nutty flavor to the drink. def my fave out of the three!! feels abit like having kinako mochi in a drink. the place is super chill too, and i just don’t want to go back to work after the post meal drink.

the soup was slightly peppery without the spice overwhelming the rich taste of pork bones in the soup. side dishes were pretty normal but will def come back for the soup!

the sauce was creamy while light and doesn’t make you sick after a few mouthfuls. there were plenty of veg in the broth that elevates the texture of the dish & the fish was so soft and fresh 😍 really love how the crunchy asparagus, juicy mushrooms and the fish soup worked so well with the creamy soup. give the ribeye steak a miss pls. the only good thing abt it was the fries but then again, you could have just ordered the old bay fries 🤷🏻‍♀️
