The most worthwhile deal that I’ve enjoyed from Burpple Beyond recently!! 2 steak dishes with salad and a choice of sauce and side, where I got Mac n Cheese (additional $1.5), and overall this meal was so worth it and delicious. I got medium rare for the steak, which was more rare than expected, so I would probably go for the medium next time. The steak was so tender and juicy, with the layers of meat layering nicely, and was so flavorful, especially when accompanied by the mushroom sauce I chose. The salad was fresh, while the mac and cheese was great as well, with a right texture of mac and enough cheese sauce to give enough cheesy flavor.
Overall this dish was really interesting and delicious, but needs to be shared. Though the gnocchi texture was amazing, as they nailed the recipe that gave a chewy potato gnocchi, each gnocchi piece was really starchy and needed some effort to chew and swallow. The creamy and savory cheese sauce went really well with the gnocchi, along with the bacon bits, however the pumpkin pieces might have contributed to the overall starchy dish that would need to be shared.
Had to return back few days after tasting super delicious pizza from here, but this time we tried the meat lovers pizza, that came with chicken breast, salami, bacon and ham, topped on the usual pizza base with tomato sauce and cheese, with some onion. Although the meat given was really generous, we preferred the other pizza we had previously, that had more cheese taste, probably because the focus of this pizza was all the meats. However, I still enjoyed this pizza which was loaded with protein and was super flavorful due to the different meats and was really hearty.
They weren’t kidding when they described it as cheesy cream sauce. The parmesan flavor was delightfully strong, complementing the cream sauce so well, while coating the homemade pasta and giving the entire dish a cheesy, creamy, savory flavor. The pasta was al dente and I really loved the texture. The smoked salmon was salty, of course, and was a good addition to the pasta, adding more umami flavor and complexity.
Thoroughly enjoyed my lunch set here, which was priced at $28++, for a drink, starter, main and dessert, which was really worth it and very filling. This pizza was included in the set lunch as one of the options. The pizza was easily one of the best pizza I have had, it was freshly made, topped with tomato sauce, lots of mozzarella cheese and italian salami. The toppings were really generous on a thin crusted pizza, where I actually tasted more cheese and salami than pizza crust. The tomato sauce was not too sourish and strong in flavor, thus most of the flavor came from the cheese, which was perfect for a cheese lover like me. The pizza crust was also perfect, soft at the centre and crispy at the outer crust.
Another favorite of mine was the Blossom dessert, which literally combined 2 of my favourite flavors together. The first flavour you get from the first bite is the strong tangy yuzu with a little sourness, followed by the slight bitter and roasted matcha flavor from the mousse. The yuzu cream was encapsulated in inner layer of the matcha mousse, and the ratio was great, allowing the balance of both flavors to come together well, with the bitterness from the matcha balancing the sweet and tangy yuzu. The texture of the mousse was soft and creamy which I really enjoyed, with a thin layer of biscuit base at the bottom that added texture to the pastry.
One of my favorite dessert from Fang Patisserie was this chocolate mousse tart that was topped with hazelnuts, had a crunchy biscuit bottom, chocolate filling and chocolate mousse. Overall, it wasn’t too sweet, had a good balance of hazelnut and chocolate flavor, and had a complex texture from the crunchy biscuit bottom, soft and creamy mousse and creamy and rich chocolate inner layer.
Not your typical ice cream waffle, this waffle was sourdough based, served with fresh fruits like strawberry and blueberries, crunchy granola, espresso caramel syrup, whipped cream and vanilla ice cream. The waffle was crispy outside and soft inside, and went well with all the toppings. The espresso caramel syrup surprised me pleasantly, as it was not too sweet due to the caramel or too strong of a coffee flavor. The balance was just right and went well with the waffles. The granola was especially crunchy and delicious.
Food took a while to come but looked so good and appetizing! Three pork ribs were served on top of pumpkin puree, and served with jalapeño. A small jug of glaze was given. The pork ribs were particularly soft and tender, roasted well, with only a small piece of bone for each rib. The pumpkin puree was very sweet and smooth and creamy. The sauce tasted like coffee and was unique, and went well with the pork ribs.
Really enjoyed the claypot chicken rice which was a generous portion, with more chicken than expected. The rice was freshly made on the spot after ordering and was so fresh and fragrant and piping hot when I received it. It had strong wokhey and toasted flavor, and was flavorful from the dark soy sauce and the ingredients. There were pieces of soft tender chicken pieces, lapcheong sausage and salted fish in the rice that all complemented the rice. The satay bee hoon was average as the sauce was a little diluted and watery with not enough peanuts.
The pasta came with iced lemon tea which was refreshing and not overly sweet, good for a warm day. The bacon aglio olio came really quickly after ordering, portion was okay, and there was enough bacon and garlic to give the pasta the fragrance and flavor. Pasta was of good texture too, not too soft, and overall was a decent meal for the price.
Had a really enjoyable time here, as the food, service and ambience were great. I thoroughly enjoyed the choc cherry tart, as it was rich and creamy and chocolate-y, and not too sweet and used dark chocolate. The texture was complex, with the tart shell, soft mousse and crunchy top bits. The flavor of the cherry was a nice complement to the chocolate as you could get bits of sourness from the cherry bits. It even came with a small scoop of chocolate sorbet at the side and some cherry sauce. The citrus tart was also good, but I personally preferred the chocolate one. The citrus tart had a fresh and refreshing citrus flavor, and a layer of almond cake in between. It came with olive oil sorbet which was quite unique but I prefer the classic chocolate. The iced latte was refreshing, flavor was nutty, dark and chocolate-y. It was a good complement to the desserts.
