Meeting up at Le Pannosia is the best. Cozy ambience complemented by good food!

In this visit, I tried their curry dish. Thus, I ordered their Chicken Katsu Beef Curry Don (RM26). This enormous dish will guarantee you to eat till your stomach's content. Juicy chicken breast coated with breadcrumbs and fried beautifully till golden brown. The beef and carrot both were tender and soaked a lot of the curry flavor. The curry sauce itself tasted the same like curry dishes that I ate in Japan! This set comes with some slices of watermelon to be spared for dessert.

Truly authentic Japanese dishes!

I've been longing to try Mikey's for a long time and when I was finally there, I only have enough budget to buy either their pizza or frozen custard. It was a no brainer decision because dessert always comes first! The frozen custard came with several flavor and a seasonal flavor which was espresso at that time.

I chose the recommended vanilla flavor with Turtle creation (RM10). I was served with a cup of vanilla frozen custard topped with nuts and flooded with caramel and chocolate fudge sauce. The frozen custard was dense but soft and creamy! I love it so much! The chocolate sauce accomplished its job to mediate the sweetness between the frozen custard the caramel sauce, which add a different color of sweetness to the overall dish.

I heard that if you had a pizza in Mikey's, you can get a 20% discount for their frozen custard. Will definitely try the frozen custard again, but next time with bun!

Le Pannosia is a hidden Little Tokyo amidst the SS15 shop lot complex. This restaurant is ran by a Japanese - Indo family. The place is very homey and cozy, just like a Japanese homes in common. Most of the customers having meal here are Japanese, even I know this place from a friend who lives with a Japanese family. Looks like the place is quite exclusive to Japanese community.

The menu is ranged from Japanese to Indonesia food. My friends ordered the Indonesian food whereas I ordered a Japanese style gratin (RM12). After a long wait, I finally got to have a really good gratin! The sauce is creamy and filled with a very generous amount of cheese.

I took a sip of my friend's soto (RM12) and rawon soup (RM9) and it was also very good and flavorsome, even the rawon soup was better than the one I had in my favorite Indonesia food stall.

I honestly didn't expect that all the food could be that good. Had a chat with the chef who is a Japanese uncle who is also fluent with Indonesian. He cooks all the Japanese dish and her Javanese-Indonesian wife cooks all the Indonesian food. He is very warm and friendly, and I can't forget when he apologized too much for serving my gratin late. Yes, I found yet another cozy place to have meal and hang out with friends in Le Pannosia.

This is a unique authentic fun dessert that I've ever had. Better Than Sex consists of pandan roti jala layered with melted mozarella cheese, served with creamy kaya toast ice cream and drizzled with melted gula melaka.

I didn't taste enough cheese from the roti jala, maybe it was overpowered by the ice cream? However, it is okay because the kaya toast ice cream won my heart. The creamy sweet ice cream with chunks of bread, adding somekind of crunchy texture to the gooey ice cream and the chewy roti jala texture, the cut up nuts and sliced strawberry adding crunchiness and acidity to the dish. The last drizzle of gula melaka successfully added the sweet local aftertaste.

It was a really amazing dish, and for me it was full of fun with all those varieties of texture and flavor combined into a harmonius local yet modern dessert! I might not know if this dish tastes better than sex, but what I know that it's the most fun dessert in case of flavor to me!

A gem hidden amidst the ancient Petaling Street. This used-to-be brothel space is transformed into a lovely modern version of vintage Malaysian atmosphere restaurant slash cafe. For a heavy meal, I orderd Hongkie Beef Stew (RM21), a 12-hours slow cooked Cantonese style beef served on top of chunky mash and gravy.

My beef was not that tender even though it is claimed to be slow cooked for 12-hours. My mom would do a better job with her pressure cooker at home. The mash was nice and well seasoned. What I love about it was the little potato chunks hidden inside the mash, resulting nice texture. The vegetable served could need more seasoning and more cooking time.

Located very near to Central Market and right beside one of the Petaling Street entrances, Shin Kee beef noodles held their famous beef noodle for probably decades!

Sorry noodles, but I prefer mee hoon this time as I ordered a dry mix beef mee hoon (RM8). The dry boiled mee hoon topped with minced beef and a big bowl of soup of beef balls, thin sliced beef, and its tripes. You would want to mix up the mee hoon with the minced beef which contains lots of flavorsome sauce. The soup was simply good with clean and strong beef flavor. All the meat inside the soup is tender perfectly cooked. You can even still see a bit of pinkish part inside the beef stripes as a sign that they are mediumly cooked! Asides from that, the tripe was tender and the beef balls were springy.

I think The forever-young-faced uncle who always cooks the noodle there is also very friendly. There's another Shin Kee stall inside of Petaling Street ran by an old couple only at night. I haven't confirmed this yet, I think those are the uncle's parents' stall. A strong reminder to avoid lunch time rush hour.

Another visit to Tsujiri and this time I finally get my hands on their parfait! I had a Chiffon Parfait with matcha ice cream (RM16).

The parfait has matcha ice cream, matcha chiffon cake, red bean paste, and cornflakes. The matcha ice cream is not sweet and perfect for people who's looking for very strong tea flavor. The chiffon cake was served warm, eaten together with the cold ice cream. The red bean paste added sweetness and texture because of the remaining red bean chunks.

A personal advice, wait for the cornflakes to soften a bit and it's ready to be devoured!

Wakon is famous for their exquisite black truffle dishes. Aside from that, I was recommended to try their udon and meat skewers. Thus, I tried their handmade udon in tonkotsu soup (RM9) along with BBQ pork belly (RM7.3) and pork neck skewers (RM8.4).

Everything tastes very good! The udon tastes fresh and springy. The tonkotsu soup has clean but strong flavor of pork broth. There are corn kernels inside the soup which were a bit mushy. It could be a lot better if they were crunchy, adding texture to the dish. The pork belly and neck were amazing. Even though the pork belly came dry, but fortunately it was crunchy with some burnt bits, making it tastes a bit smoky. Love the pork neck too! The meat was springy and very juicy.

My tips if you visit this place is eat everythinf while they're still warm! The place was very cold, it tends to make the dishes cold quickly.

Uncle Seng is a legendary noodle shop in SS15 that serves their pork noodle. This place is always crowded with so many loyal customers everyday.

I ordered a plate of Charsiew Wonton and Deep Fried Pork Noodle. For people who are used to eat here, they would probably ask for extra bowls of curry sauce and friend onion drenched in oil with no extra charge! For me, I always ask for the onion, but I am not really a fan of the curry (because I can't eat spicy food!). The noodle was ok, but combined with the pork it became even better. Nothings goes bad if combined with pork. The wontons are tender and flavorful.

This is a perfect place if you are craving for a simple porky noodle with curry sauce drizzle in your option.

Another trip to Melt'On after a week before my first visit! Yes, they are that good! This time the Baileys Oreo flavor was available so I ordered one with another scoop of Peanut Butter Nutella.

Sadly, they served me the wrong flavor. Instead of Baileys Oreo, I got Irish Coffee flavor. The peanut butter taste very peanuty and rough like crunchy peanut butter. Surprises of chunked peanut butter and nutella can be found amidst the ice cream! The Irish Coffee flavor is very strong and taste completely like creamy coffee without being overly too sweet.

Another round to share with some friends was waffle with a scoop of Rum Raisin and Baileys Oreo. The waffle was fluffy and fragrant with additional drizzle of chocolate sauce. Turned out the baileys' flavor was not as strong as I like my rum in the rum raisin flavor, but still, good.

When I visited this time, I sampled their new Strawberry Plum flavor that tasted really good too. Maybe I could try this flavor on my next visit?

Pickle & Fig is located in the same row as Dotty's and Purradise cat cafe. The cafe itself is okay. From a lot of menu written on a wide big greenboard behind the cashier, I picked BBQ Philly Cheesesteak with wholemeal bread. It cost me RM24 which I think is quite overpriced.

The dish comes with a wholemeal press grilled with their beef slices cooked with their own kitchen's BBQ sauce, cheddar and mozarella cheese, and fried onion ring. To me this is unique because the ususal philly cheesesteak uses sauteed onion. Unfortunately the beef was hard and the bread was too dry for me. The sauce is ok for me, even though it felt quite strong and left some heat after I finished eating. The sandwich comes with salad and potato wedges. Both were ok. The salad's vinaigrette left quite a good memory after the meal.

Conclusion, it's an average overprice philly.

Another new sandwiches and panini series from Pickle and Fig that I got to try was Smoked Salmon & Cream Cheese (RM22). With my choice of foccacia bread it has smoked salmon, cream cheese mixed with lemon tarragon mayo, and mixed greens with capers.

Bad news is, the overall of this panini disappointed me. I couldn't really taste the salmon, even though it was smoked salmon which should've tasted stronger. The cream cheese got beaten with the sour lemon mayo. Yes, the potato wedges and the salad were ok. The bread was the only savior of the panini, which was perfectly grilled with outer thin crust and moist bread inside.

I hope the next time I have a chance to visit this well-known cafe again, it has come up with nicer dishes than these ones.
