Couldn't resist this Fried Bun with Condensed Milk ($5) even though I was soooo full but it was so worth the additional calories!

The fried mantou have a really crisp exterior and are soft and fluffy on the inside, nothing too sinful until you take a dip into the condensed milk, resulting in a simple yet sinful treat for a sweet conclusion to the hotpot meal.

Seriously, this Top Grade Kurobuta Tonkatsu Set is $31.80 before discount so it's insanely worth the money after slashing the cost in half.

The high grade loin cutlet is very much balanced with tender and juicy meat and fat with a crisp batter that's been pretty well-drained with little trace of residual oil. The set comes with shredded cabbage and a side of lemon, with rice, pork miso soup, pickled yellow radish and fresh fruits. While it isn't the best tonkatsu I've had, it's certainly enjoyable, and for 50% off I couldn't be more satisfied!

Considering the affordable price point of this Tiger Sugar Pearl Milk Tea of $2.80 in comparison other brown sugar drinks, this is surely a worthy contender. Unlike the usual fresh milk variants, I was initially worried that because milk tea already has a prominent taste of its own, the brown sugar sauce and boba wouldn't come off as strong - boy could I be more wrong! The brown sugar flavour is still prominent after mixing, contributing to an otherwise sweeter taste that manages not to feel like too much. The pearls are beautifully soft and chewy and jam-packed with much brown sugariness for me to enjoy fully! Definitely see myself returning for more next time! 😋

The Truffle Carbonara ($19) is a cream-base linguine dish that incorporates mushrooms, bacon and shaved parmesan, topped with poached egg and truffle paste.

Tossing the dish altogether, the truffle taste did not manage to pick up except where bits of the paste might have landed; could be my poor mixing skills or my unrealistic expectations for pungent truffle flavours but otherwise that element was lost in translation in this dish. Overall, this plate of carbonara felt like a reminder to me that I need to stop eating cream-based carbonaras because it got rather overwhelming to stomach towards the end, although I did finish it. Nothing too 'wow' to shout about other than a nice, flowy yolk, but if you fancy cream-based carbonara dishes, then who knows - you just might like this one. 😏

Runway80's take on Memphis' very own Pulled Pork Sliders ($14.80) sandwiches 8-hour slow cooked roasted pork shoulder that's hand-pulled, with onions as well as lettuce within addictively crisp fried mantou buns!

Together with mixed greens and mad tasty fried onions on the side, I really enjoyed the sliders; the pulled pork is succulent and tender, proving to be the star component of the dish with its juicy and savoury flavour. Served as a plate of five sliders, this is very ideal for a proper meal or to share over drinks!

This is part of a dinner tasting at @runway80sg hosted by @marque.sg! 🙏🏻

Each one comes with the brand's signature Cream Cloud, which is their rendition of the current cheese foam trend!

I really appreciate and enjoy the use of natural ingredients to create their drinks to allow for an authentically refreshing fruit tea experience, and my favourite is the Strawberry which has a balanced sweet and sour taste. Similarly to my previous experience here, the cheese foam is really tasty, possessing flavour that is just enough to give the beverages a prominent, slightly sweet and salty flavour.

While it undeniably is a nice, enjoyable bowl of mee pok, the price point just doesn't justify it for me, and I just find it a tad oily.

Have you tried this? What's your take on it and what's the best bowl of mee pok or ba chor mee you've had in Singapore? What exactly is the meaning of life? Feel free to share in the comments below. 😜

The Whoaffles ($9.50) prove to still be superior even after all these years with the batter being crisp with a soft and airy interior. Paired it with Blue Peppermint Ice-cream and gula melaka sauce; don't know why it has to be blue but it certainly does not fall short of coolness from the mint, pairing well with the rich drizzle of my choice of sauce: gula melaka.

In a world where standards are so difficult to maintain, I'm glad Hatter Street is still holding on fine. 👍🏻

SWIPE for a preview of some of the dishes that went down that night and see if you can tell what they are!

Offering a variety of meats, cuts and parts, as well as veggies, seafood and non-hotpot options, you will surely be spoilt for choice as you browse through the fresh selection which include Prime Fresh Beef Tripe ($12), Swine Throat ($13), Prime Beef Tongue ($17), among several other choices! Of course if everything I mentioned has freaked you out a little, you can also select from Pork Belly ($8) or Australian Prime Beef ($18), to name a few.

For the soup bases, you can select up to three types, with a choice between THREE levels of mala. My personal favourite is the Pork Bone and Spicy Soup ($15) because it is flavourful but not too heavy and is the safest option is terms of keeping the original flavour of your food as much as possible. Having it at a level 1 spiciness, it was really easy for me to drink. Level 2 would be my 'last warning' point which I tried with the Tomato and Spicy Soup ($16) that I also enjoyed actually! For personal reasons I did not try the Spicy Jiu Gong Ge Hot Pot ($18) with which was given a level 3 spiciness; I could feel the heat from a distance so I assumed it'd be safer for me to avoid. 😨 There is also Mushroom and Spicy Soup ($15) for those who'd be interested!

If you need your sauces, there's a station to make your own, featuring a wall othat suggests combinations to go with your food! I personally love the sesame oil which comes in a red can as well as the vinegar which you can put after you've selected your condiments!

On a whole, it's been a really loooong time since my last hotpot experience and Xiao Mu Deng definitely satisfied and filled me up so bad I couldn't even think about supper. All's well that ends well I suppose. 😂

Thank you @xiaomudeng_hotpot for the HUGE spread and @foodinsing for having me at the tasting! 🙏🏻

The Poofy Pancakes ($14) consist of three soufflé pancakes dusted with icing sugar and topped with vanilla Chantilly cream, fresh mixed berries and a side of maple syrup. Using Takaragasa wheat flour, the texture is delicate and pillowy, cutting through rather easily, and I am soooo happy it's not the slightest bit eggy! The cream has a very light and smooth texture with just the right amount of taste to perfectly complement the pancakes, so much so that I almost forgot there was maple syrup to dip! 😋

Having wanted to try this for so long, I'm really glad the wait has been worth the while because I really enjoyed this with every mouthful! Will definitely be back for more next time. 🤤

Thank you @burpple @gigglesandjiggles for the opportunity to attend the event and tasting and the folks at @habitat_sg @honestbeesg for being such fantastic, chill hosts and for the insane spread that night! 🙏🏻

The Carvers Meatball Sandwich ($16) serves @omnipork meatballs dipped in black pepper sauce in a banh mi-style bun with greens and a side of fries. As a heavy meat consumer, I can sort of tell this is not meat due to the overall texture, but yet somehow I don't really mind; when you have every component together, it still more or less manages to feel like a complete sub which I quite enjoyed!

The Carvers Xtreme Meatballs ($16) serves cheese-stuffed meatballs using a 'Meat Alternative' pork product from @beyondmeat over mashed potatoes, cream sauce and greens. I do feel that when the meatballs are stuffed, it does feel a little more convincing. Flavours can be further experimented with this though as I felt the seasoning could do with a bit more flavour. Despite that, the meatballs go great with the mash! 😁

As an event-only special, I got to try a Meatball Burger which makes use of @omnipork patties as well. A shame it is not on the menu, because the meatballs here definitely stood out the most with their tangy and savoury flavour, coming the closest to what I'd expect of the real deal. Perhaps a recipe for the future? 😌

With more F&B concepts, especially meat-heavy ones like CarversX (Asia Square 1 Food Garden, Bayfront) introducing vegan-friendly options, this allows for more inclusivity for our vegan friends and flexibility in dining out with a mixed group of vegans and meat consumers!

Thank you @greenmonday_official for having me at the event and @carvers_x for the food! 🙏🏻

The Classic "Tiong Bahru" Ice-cream Stick ($5.90) is sheer proof that celebrity Iron Man Chef @chefheman is fully capable of elevating something so simple and given, with inspiration drawn from elements of his past to incorporate into his SIN-cuisine. Using an old-school ceramic mug (oh how I'd bring ice-cream like this home as a child and quickly put it in a cup so nothing goes to waste!), the ice-cream is drizzled in luscious and smooth mango puree cream which has a natural sweet mango taste that somehow just pairs so perfectly; that really is all this needs to change the entire flavour profile of the dessert while retaining every bit of nostalgia it gives. ❤️ IronSupperClub is located at Jalan Wangi, roughly 10 minutes from Potong Pasir station. Helmed by Chef Heman himself, you can expect to find a variety of hearty dishes that combine western cuisine with a Singaporean touch. Chef Heman also gives career opportunities to those with special needs by providing them with a platform to train and garner experience in the industry as a means of caring for and giving to the community.

Thank you @project24sg @ironsupperclub for hosting the tasting and @qinlovesmacaronsss for the invite! 🙏🏻
