The cakes and tarts at this new patisserie are terribly expensive (about $7-9) for tiny slices, so @pigg0ink and I opted to try just one item, the Choux Creme. It turned out to be absolutely delightful, the mottled crust crispy and slightly flaky, its entire cavity filled with a velvety vanilla bean custard that might have been too dense, if not for the clever and unexpected incorporation of crunchy almond nougat bits. Wouldn't hesitate to get this again!
There's something about this pie that sets it apart from the many others I've had. The tart apple slices, almost savoury flaky-on-the-outside crust and done-without-sick-sweetness makes it my dessert of choice here (always) and perhaps, almost certainly, this is my favouritest apple pie~
Each Burpple eatup is all about great eats and even greater company as it is an opportunity for everyone to know each other and catch up as well. This time round we hit The Beast at Jalan Klapa which serves South American cuisine, ranging from signature items such as Corn Bread and Fried Chicken on Waffle. If you are a big eater and in for a challenge, try out The Beast Burger; a burger with three types of meat and lots of cheese to down. They also serve quite a variety of alcohol, so it makes for a great place for a hangout after-work. Being all about South American cuisine, expect flavours to be more extreme and sizes bigger than expected; you have been warned!
Melbourne imported froyo spotted in TPY!!! Super near to creamier. The sweetness and sourness was very well balanced and the flavors were pronouncedly brought out. It was very smooth as well. My fave has gotta be mango & soy and chocolate. They've other unique flavors like green tea, coconut and pomegranate! Their toppings are not the usual ones you see as well, from chia seeds (for the health conscious) to cheesecake and rocky road. There's bound to be something you like from the wide variety that they've to offer. Going at $3.8/100g, I don't think I will crave for Sogurt anymore! Frozen is the way to go! (Just that it's a little far from home 😂😂)
The word is out, they are located at Wilby Central 15 Queen Street. Here’s a sneak preview of their rustic Japanese-style bread and pastries.
Marshmallow Cream in a crisp, flaky pastry. Not your traditional Cream Horn, but still satisfied the sweet tooth in me!
I love this sandwich because of its taste and texture. Instead of a regular bread, the flaky butter croissant is stuffed with parma ham and gruyere.
The sandwich is served at room temperature, though they do not warm up the bakes upon order, the croissant still remains crusty on its own. It will do more justice if the price can be adjusted lower. I personally find it's rather pricey for such a simple pastry sandwich like this.
It's at least half clean I think. This is Singapore mixed seafood wrap, ingredients comprising crab sticks, lettuce, shrimps, cherry tomatoes, carrot and cucumber in chili crab dressing.
